Does anyone know if the only thing exclusive to these in regards to bonus features are the bonus discs that make up the 7 part documentary?
From what I understand, the first two films have the extended editions on disc one. Then they have one disc of a 7-part documentary exclusive to these Ultimate Editions. From film 3 onward, do you have to keep any of the movie discs or DVD discs to have exclusive bonus features, in addition to the extra disc? The reviews for 1 and 2 say the 2nd bonus DVD disc just features SD versions of features previously made available. I say this because a friend gave me the bonus 7-part discs for the first 5 films, but the review for 5 makes it seem like the movie disc has some bonus features that are still exclusive to the Ultimate Edition like the PIP and one other thing I can't remember. So I assume 3-7 might have bonus features exclusive to these Ultimate Editions on other discs besides the corresponding Part _ disc? |

Does the Hogwarts Collection really feature that last bonus disc from the Wizard's Collection?

And you definitely have to hang onto the DVD bonus discs of 1-4 if you want every single feature (besides what's on the exclusive boxed set bonus disc). 1 and 2 carry over some stuff from their DVD bonus discs onto the new documentary Blu discs but still drop some featurettes and galleries, especially in Chamber's case. With 3 and 4, NONE of their original bonus disc material is carried over to the documentary Blu. You're safe with 5-7 since by that time, most of the original supplements were in HD, so WB saw fit to include them on the documentary discs. |

So with 5-7, I only need the respective Bonus Disc from each and that's all? |

These 2 are the same sets in terms of disc, apart from the drastic change in packaging. Great way to get every extra ever released, and even the 3D versions of the two Year 7 movies. Only things you’re missing with these sets are the newer 4K disc. Note the newest anniversary version of the first movie features a new mode to watch the movie with as well, no similar release has followed for the sequels.

- HP1-8 4K Blu-rays - HP7: DH1 & HP8: DH2 3D Blu-rays - HP1 20th Anniversary Blu-ray (PIP Bonus) - 1 & 2 Ultimate Edition Extended Blu-rays (also in 4K's Blu-rays) - Ultimate Edition Bonus Discs Parts 1-7 - 4 & 5 Blu-rays from UE (PIP Bonus Feature - also in 4K's Blu-rays) - 1-4 Bonus DVDs from Ultimate Editions - 7: Best Buy Bonus Disc (Bonus also featured in 7/8's UE?) - 8: Target Bonus Disc (Is this in 7/8's UE?) - Hogwarts Collection / Wizard Collection Bonus Disc I'm sure there's a more detailed breakdown somewhere, but I'm guessing this is all? I have that trunk for 1-5 and I never sold the discs because they feature artwork that goes with the "books". I wonder if maybe those have 4 and 5 with the PiP Bonuses, as that collection is almost never mentioned. |

Keep in mind that you can find the original DVD releases for 1-4 for cheap that way you can get the bonus discs off those. You don't need the Best Buy bonus disc for DH1 because that content (the "Behind the Magic" TV special and the "On the Road" featurette) got carried over to the UE. And if you do manage to track down the Hogwarts Collection/Wizard's Collection bonus disc on its own, you don't need the Target bonus disc for DH2. That Target disc was a 45-minute version of "When Harry Left Hogwarts," but the bonus disc from either boxed set gives you the complete 90-minute version (which is amazing and by far the best doc ever made on this series). I got very lucky. When the Hogwarts Collection boxed set was about to be released, WB knew they couldn't send that massive beast to reviewers, so they just sent them the bonus disc by itself in a cardboard sleeve since the rest of that set's content was just the UEs. One of those reviewers sold their bonus disc, sleeve and all, on eBay, and I managed to nab it and slide it into my UE for Deathly Hallows, so I've got every single supplement without ever buying either boxed set. So with this, I just need the 4Ks (which I have) and the 20th Anniversary Movie Mode (which I have via the steelbook- but it seems I only kept the 4K and Movie Disc and sold the disc that says Magic Movie Mode), and then that HBO Max special Blu-ray, and that's everything, right? Do the DVDs with just the film (Disc 2 I think) in the Hogwarts Collection 1-4 have any special features, or can I sell those off and put the 4K discs inside? I know they have a third disc for most of them, but those clearly say special features. |

The dvds have special features in SD. If you look at the reviews for each Ultimate Edition on this site, it lists them.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I have a question. Does anyone know what the difference(s) are between the Hogwarts collection and the Ultimate Edition... (Except for disc 31 from the Hogwarts collection)? I have 3 discs from the Hogwarts collection that I can't play, starting with year 5 going thru 7 and all have a bad disc #3 ....aka the bonus disc's! Does anyone know if the UE has the same discs/content as the Hogwarts or are they different?

Ok. Thanks. I appreciate the response!
I've seen people say things like how the Hogwarts collection takes bonus material from the originals, plus bonus material from the UE's, and combined them into one disc. That, among many other things, made me wonder if some of the "Creating the World" disc's of the UE's are lacking some things that are on the "Creating the World" disc's of the Hogwarts collection. I have the special disc 31, and all of the other discs, except for 3 of the "Creating the World" discs, which I could never get to read. I thought that if those discs are the same, then I might be able to get what I need, just by buying the 3 UE's that I need, instead of trying to get a new copy of the entire Hogwarts collection. The 3 disc's are #19, #22, and #25. All of which are the "Creating the World" disc's. |
