Sorry but the review is right on the money. blind faith in avatar will not let people see the truth that you have a movie that is all style and no substance.

I look forward to watching it many times in the future. Something I can not say for TDK.
You seem to have misunderstood his post. He wasn't saying TDK was too long or boring. He was saying that only its IMAX scenes were properly transferred on BD. The 35mm footage (the bulk of the movie) looks very poor.

So Avatar looks better than most of TDK.

Good thing I can think for myself and don't need to count for me, as they are obviously not very good at it.

Nobody wants to change your opinion. If you love the movie, well, good for you!
When you get a chance, Google the 7 themes thing and see what comes up!

I have a question; Next year, will people have a choice between buying the
3D Blu-ray of Avatar or a 3D DVD of Avatar?

In other words, is the new 3D technology only for Blu-ray?

My understanding is Blu-ray only that is why it was not released yet, Cameron is waiting for more adopters.

Blu-ray only since there are no 3D DVD players.

True, I also agree that The Dark Knight was a little to long for its own good and could have done with some trimming, whereas Avatar whilst long never felt long to me and if anything it could have used more footage.

Ah, well then I stand both vindicated and corrected.

I agree, really having a hard time understanding what all the hype is about over this movie?? Looks good but not that much if any better than many BDs. Stupid story and plot, who cares about some goofy weird made up aliens or whatever that flys around? could not even watch the whole movie, very boring and really silly. Will NOT be adding this my collection but had to rent it due to the hype, another regreted rental. Like Chuck D said...."Don't believe the hype"

lol, you do realize that the person you where aggreing with had not seen the film. It's good that you gave the film a chance though before stating your distaste for it, though you probably should accept the hype as most have very much so enjoyed the film.

Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed the movie. Seeing it in 3D was an experience unlike any other. As a whole, Avatar entertained me, bringing me into a whole new world. I may have not thought it had a strong plot, but Avatar is definitely a must-own for me. With reference PQ/AQ, I can make it past the lackluster plot of Avatar and purchase this once the November release is out.

OMG you have got to be kidding me. Avatar is no GWTW or ET for that matter.

Like it or not, Avatar is a phenomenon and is likely to be remember much like ET and GWTW are.

LOL I did realize that and what difference does that make? I thought it looked dumb before i saw it too, but unfourtunatly had to follow the flock and all thier gushing. I saw it and will never get that hour or so that i watched of my life back. But hey lots of people liked so it must be good right?

Well some posters on this forum were saying TDK PQ was the best before it was even released. There were threads about best PQ and people were like "right now it's Cars or Casino Royale, etc., but when TDK is released it will be the best, yeahh!" Those are the people that weren't going to change their minds no matter what the transfer looked like.
