Thumbs up

Just saw Avatar 3D friday night, great movie! Way better than I expected! Not as good as Inglorious Basterds, but still a great movie.

Hated it. Terrible film.

And yes, I have seen most of Tarantino's films. Enough to know I won't like the next one.

No. Crap fits. Haven't seen one of his films worth really watching.

What is this issue with headaches during watching 3D movies?
I've seen both the Real 3D presentation and the IMAX 3D presentation and have not once had any headache problems..
I didn't notice any difference in the image on either the IMAX or Real 3D versions..though the IMAX screen was sqaure and not letterboxed like in the Real 3D version..
I liked both presentations!
I hope they release this in the red & blue lens 3D version because I won't buy this without 3D and won't be changing my tv or my cabling to it for very few movies that are offered in the new 3D t.v. viewing..

I discovered something about this movie. I saw it in 3D, was very amazed and captivated by it. Really loved it, saw it again not in 3D, just not nearly as good.

You take away that 3D and you're left with a pretty average story, weak writing at times and a lame duck lead actor (Sam Worthington).

I didnt notice any of that while watching in 3D. The movie is still good without the 3D, but its just not even close to being as good. Its just a pretty good sci fi movie without it. Nothing all that special at all.

3-D screws with your senses. Headaches are just the start of it. It doesn't surprise me that some headaches have been bad enough to cause fatalities.

Exactly. A lot of people have been duped by this VERY average movie!

It would surprise me if a headache cased death - a lot

I'm guessing the same statistic of people dying in Avatar is similar to that of people dying during sex...

I though the movie was ok. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it looked amazing..most likely the home experience won't be as visually stimulating. Might buy it when it comes to Blu...if only the story/characters were a bit more interesting...

Saw this movie recently. In my opinion it was a bad movie with convincing CG. Wont even think about buying this as I have no desire to watch it again.

Oh I don't know. Photosensitive epilepsy is quite bad. It's not a major stretch to think that something in your head could go pop over 3-D. The human brain doesn't like to have its senses tricked.

Would that make it your first Blu if you did? You have a lot of zero's over there under your name.

The avatar is good though.

Every single reality show and political speech to the contrary...

I get your point.

Yeah its pretty messed up. And some people think this will go mainstream. It will always be something to watch for special events and special movies. And it should be that way. To much of this will start killing a lot of people

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Tarantino is one of those director's people either love or hate. I love his films.

Only film I disliked was Death Proof. What a disaster that film was. Death Proof was one of the worst films I've ever seen.
