You have inside info that this is a poor release???? What makes this "A title that shouldn't be more than $20" ?? Because it's not a new-release??? Keep that attitude, and you're telling studios hey, don't go all out on stuff like Jaws, Indy, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Ben Hur, LOA, etc etc... Just blow out some quick bare-bones discs, and price them for $15... that's what "we" want....

Well... That's not what I want...

The movie is 3 months away from release, there’s no way it will be more than $24.99 on release day somewhere.

I’d even go so far to say it’ll be $22.99.

I don’t understand why/how people don’t realize that. there’s ALWAYS going to be a price point of $25 for movies like this……there has been for over a year now.

How much were toy story 1 & 2 when they were announced for pre-order?? Same thing will happen here.

I don't understand why you are defending Disney. Just because it has special features doesn't mean it has to be ridiculously expensive. And besides, special features is not the reason why it is highly priced. It is expensive because Disney thinks that when they also include two low quality copies (DVD and digital copy) it doubles the value of the product, but it doesn't. They put a sticker on the box saying something like "$75 value" so you can be happy when you can buy it for "only" $33.

For example, look at the pricing of "The Princess and the Frog". List price for the release that comes with a digital copy is $5 higher than the list price of regular Blu-ray+DVD combo pack. I just wish they would also release it with only 2 Blu-ray discs like Toy Story 3. I do not want to pay five more dollars for a DVD and a digital copy that I'll never use.

I'm not going to pay more than $20 for it....... but that doesn't mean that it's only 'worth' $20.... If you really enjoy it, and it receives a good transfer, extras, etc.... then any Blu-ray would be worth $30+

I'm waiting more because I know the price will go down, and I don't need it that badly....

OFF-TOPIC

I just need to get it to add more variety to my kids' movie collection. I find most of the pixar stuff great in the fact that it's not painful to sit through, has good references that keep adults entertained, good story/lessons.... but if it weren't for my kids, there isn't one Pixar movie I'd pull off the shelf and watch alone..... The classic Disney stuff I grew up with "yes" but that's nostalgia.... Pixar is just a great alternative to "Santa Paws" and other stuff kids would otherwise make me watch with them.....

I know many people truly enjoy Toy Story, and Finding Nemo etc... enough that they own them, and watch them, yet don't have any kids.... I just could never see myself doing that

I love how people complain about the prices of these set because of the extra disks... TS3 cost more for the 2 disk set than the 4 disk set if you used the coupon... unless you used the coupon for the 2 disk set which was a no no

When you subtract the coupon code and the included 3D movie ticket the final price of this set should be around $8. For one of the greatest animated movies of all time a steal.

I don't use digital copies at all. if I'm buying the film its to watch it in HD on my big screen TV... ONLY.

I do sometimes like having the DVD copy packaged inside, not that I'd ever watch it, but I can loan it to friends who don't have Blu-ray. I did that with "Up", "Wall-E", "Sherlock Holmes", "Angels & Demons", "Sorcerer's Apprentice", "The A-Team", and "Inception". So that comes in handy that way. I always felt bad because in the old days when I bought DVDs people would say "hey loan me "Ocean's Eleven" or "Hotel Rwanda" and I'd just do it. When I got Blu-rays those same people would be like "Oh can I borrow the film and I'd have say "Well it won't work on your player, so no".

I'm not Beta Man, but I will step in here. It's not about defending Disney. You and others continue to fail to realize what we are continuing to say. This movie is priced at $31.99 now, but it won't be once it gets closer to release. There is no reason to complain about Disney charging a price that high when it won't be that high when it actually matters. That is before even factoring in the coupon since Disney always has a coupon for every one of their movies.

And you fail to realize that the real retail price is directly related to the list price. It could be $19.99 now and even lower later.

The MSRP is the same as the vast majority of Pixar titles. That has nothing to do with complaining about the $31.99 price tag that nobody will be charging by release day and no Pixar release has ever cost.

Why do people always complain about Disney and their combo packs and the high MSRP prices BEFORE they come out when you typically pay less for these movies on RELEASE day than what you pay for for one BD or combo pack from another manufacturer on release day? Ever heard of Disney coupons?

Been waiting for a long time for this one. Glad it's finally almost here.

Hey, stupid question. Why is the first post dated 11/24/2007?

Looks like it used to be in the Wish Lists forums before it was officially announced. So they had the title changed and the OP editied his original post.

I think you're right. It's a good way of keeping everybody who was part of an existing forum discussion about a particular movie in the know when it's officially announced. So a WISH thread becomes an OFFICIAL thread.

This thread has become ridiculous. Wait until release day before you start whining about the price and if the price is still too high for you, don't buy it. Why is it that complicated? By all means post and tell us if you think it's too expensive, but there's no reason to start a clustercrap of an argument because everybody wants to debate a price that nobody's technically seen yet.

Chillax everybody. It'll be okay.

True. No Blu-ray movie is ever that high. Has anyone ever seen a single Blu-ray movie on a store shelf at Best Buy or Amazon.com with a price tag of over $30.00 in the year 2009, 2010 or 2011? No, you havent.

If you saw a pricetag of over $30.00, it was for a season of South Park or something, which is not a single movie.

List price and retail price (actual price) are two different things.

See you all in hell

Actually it's not too hard to find one over $30 at either place. I guess it depends what kinds of movies you are into, Criterion Collection movies a frequently over $30. It's even worse in Canada where I've seen them reach as high as $49.99 and more (regular studio movies and not just stuff like Criterion). I've noticed the price of blu-rays increasing quite dramatically over the last year or so. And sorry, but all Disney movies are notoriously overpriced. Toy Story 3 is $34.99 at Best Buy Canada, Disney's A Christmas Carol $39.99, Up $38.99, and I could go on. The saddest part is that we are pretty much at parity dollar wise.

The worst pricing is Megamind listed @ 49.99 (@$28 now) for a BD and DVD... for 2 BD a DVD and a Digital Copy $45.99 (@32 now and will be lower later) is not so bad... yes this is not a new movie but Megamind and the Incredibles will be around the $20 mark on release and Disney will give us a Coupon
