If you shock them or use the mkII it just knocs them out temporarily. They'll get up and come after you again.

[Show spoiler]I got through it fairly easily by running to the end and crouching behind the crates. Use the ray gun to take out the gecko first and then use the m4 custom to take out the rest of the frogs quickly. Then just tap away on triangle to open the door. You should get it open before they come back and stop you if you take them out fast enough.

My question is... how the hell do you get through that part without being spotted?

Crawl along the right side with auto face camo, headshot everyone you see. Sometimes their partner runs out of sight but eventually they return to their usual patrol route.

Does anyone have the soundtracks of metal gear 1, 2, and 3? I was wondering if they're any good. I found someone selling all 3 for $25.

I have the second and third and I've played all three games so it's safe to say yes, the soundtracks are brilliant.

Just got into Act Two. Damn Liquid got away! I'm going to Naomi right now and I don't know what to do with the hostages. Do I help them so that they could help me or do I just keep going?

[Show spoiler]Here's what I did. I played through the whole game with zero kills so this def. works.
As soon as the level starts go prone. Crawl slowly to the left until the first two frogs appear. Tranq them. Then you can crouch run straight ahead towards the left side until you reach a big crate. Go prone again and slowly creep foward until 3 more frogs jump down to the ground level. 2 are easily seen. Tranq them. There is a third around the corner. You can tranq her but it is just as easy to leave her be. Crouch run again, still hugging the left side of the map until you reach an obstruction. You can wall hug the part to the right of the obstruction to squeeze through. Go prone again and creep foward until two more frogs appear. Quickly tranq them. Crouch run to the end of the map still hugging the left side and turn right. Slowly creep between the building and the far wall now hugging the wall of the building until you see one gekko walking around and another jumps down to the ground level. Stay hidden and position the camera so you can see the Gekkos. One will get blown up by the Arizona (By Mei Ling I suppose). Wait until the other turns around and walks away. Quickly stand up and run to the door and quickly hit Triangle to open the door. Doing it this way I was never seen by any enemy and never had to kill anyone.

Being different from everyone else doesn't mean he/she is better.

Just because other reviewers aren't complaining doesn't mean they have a hidden complaint.
MAYBE it's because others really do like the game, and not because they fear complaining might get them hate mails from MGS fans, ever thought of that?

What most people are thinking? No. A few people? Sure.

That's fine if you think that, but don't assume everyone else is 'in the back of their minds'. Who cares about three little words? Here's three words that sum it up better than Tactical Espionage Action...frickin' awesome game.

well said.

although, the escapist dude does have a point... if you're not already a fan of the series, this is probably not a good game to start with.

i personally find the control scheme to work just fine. i'm loving MGO. although i like the control scheme in standard FPSes, how many elite troops out there shoot from the hip IRL?

the answer would be... none.

i find the mechanic of forcing you to shoulder a weapon before firing it to be perfectly acceptable.

+1 that was his opinion and thats that. Every game is gonna have its flaws no matter what but its about your pros outweighing your cons thats what MGS 4 did, its outweighed them so much that its hard to point a finger on one con. In my eyes mgs4 was just anther brillant masterpiece.

Very funny but not what "most people" want to say. People gave the game great reviews because its a great game.

If you dont like it no worries, but a bit silly coming to the MGS4 thread to say it.

besides the fact that Ben is SUPPOSED to make fun of the games he plays even if they happen to be good?
