If she has her strings on you use the syringe to free yourself from it.

And the reason for that of course is: nanomachines

It seems like if there is something that doesn't make sense, they cover it up with that answer.

Nearly 500,000 for Metal Gear Solid 4 in Japan
Best selling PS3 title in Japan after just one week of sales.
By John Tanaka

Metal Gear Solid 4 broke records in its first week of sales in Japan, quickly becoming the best selling PS3 title yet over there.

Famitsu.com reports that the game sold 476,334 units over its first few days of release. This figure is split across all variations of the game, including the standard edition, the special edition, and the two hardware bundles.

MGS4 caused quite the boost for PlayStation 3 hardware sales. While the system was struggling to reach 10,000 units in a given week, MGS4 caused a sales spike to 77,208 units.

The site sourced data from parent company Enterbrain, whose latest tracking data includes the first four days of the game's release, from June 12 to June 15.

has anyone had their level go down?? ive been level 4 for the past few days and it went down to 3 yesterday and it did it the other day too. i know ive been usually getting a K : D of around 2:1 or 1.5:1 with the occasional game of 1:1. i even managed to get my CQC to master last night and it still went down. my headshot K : D is down mainly because i use the knife more then i do my M4 but its not that low, around 625:700

Is there any way to see how many kills you have? Besides @ the ending of the Act. I managed to kill 1 person and I'm not sure which section it was. I guess I have to do the same act over again? Pain in the ass.

Boss Extreme isn't as hard as it seems... IF you take the time in a previous clear to kill everything so you can fully explore levels and find all options (or use a ton of trial and error, which is what I ended up doing). Honestly, the only hard parts for Boss Extreme were the mandatory combat portions as you have to really rock the tranqs, vrings, and solar blasts while holding insane cover. That, and the total luck stuff like the motorcycle in Act 3. The motorcycle was the most frustrating for me as there really isn't a solution other than to get lucky... You can maximize your odds with some good alternation between twin barrel shotgun (vrings) and mkII (any tranq) and stun grenades; however, spamming stun grenades isn't so great for your psyche and definitely is a total luck shot since your screen is bright white 90% of the time from the flashing. I basically used the snake eye radar and the lettering over enemy's heads to kinda try and make sure I threw them the right direction. lol

Also, now that we are 'spoiler okay'...

Dump the railgun even though many walkthroughs and people say it's the greatest for bosses. It's not. The .50cal Barret owns it hardcore. It has a great semi auto firing rate combined with doing about 1/3 the damage as the rail gun but without the charge up. Plus, you can often land far more than one shot before the boss moves. I can seriously kill Raging Raven in less than 45 seconds using it (she just sits and gets rallied on), I've killed Crying Wolf without here even moving from her starting spot with it, and for the Gekko after Vamp while Raiden is fighting up top it is a major improvement. I found myself just sitting down (healing any damage done to me, but there rarely was any using this weapon it was so fast) while waiting for the next wave of Gekko. I even had enough time to pull out my sorrow doll and camera to take some pictures of ghosts under and around Rex! I'm pretty sure this is the reason that in it's description it says 'the favorite weapon of Hideo Kojima' or something to that effect.

@sfmarine:

No. It sucks but the only way is either during mission briefings (with the news bar running) or at the end. My first time through Boss Extreme I was getting frustrated because I kept having -> one <- freakin' kill at the end of Act 2... I thought I was somehow accidently shooting a zombie soldier while taking out Gekko in the Drebin scene; however, it was actually because I was using the surface to air missile (FMwhatever) thingy on Laughing Octopus and one of the Frogs I slept getting her to arrive was still sleeping on the floor in it's blast radius... getting fried (only have to use non-lethal after they are out of their armor). So, I just paid more attention to splash damage and was fine after that.

If you load up a mission briefing using your current progress save your stats should scroll across the screen. Not sure if you need to choose the mission briefing for the mission you're on.

AHHH!!!! Thank you! I finished all my emblems a few days ago and the only thing I couldn't figure out was where all 30 of the ghosts were so I've been running around Shadow Moses trying to find the last ones I didn't have, and this explains it. I never even thought about taking pics under there. I was going crazy trying to find those things. I swear my mind started making ghosts of it's own out in the snow.

The levels aren't really levels. They shouldn't have named them that. They are more like group designations (maybe ranks would work) that put you into a group that is more representative of your level of play (must be where they got 'level' from, I guess).

It's just based off your performance statistics and used to help you pick games with players of your caliber. The more you play, the more accurate the number becomes based on the increased statistics over time. So, in theory, as time goes by you would find your the matches you joined more and more evenly balanced; however, this is flawed so I'm not sure why they did it...

Here is why:

As matches, and statistics, mature and things become more balanced then people will begin to see more 1:1 type ratios and lower headshots, whatever, because all the weaker people would be gone and the strongest players would still be very close to each other in skill so there would be no over arching curve influencing statistics anymore... As such, they would either have to have a lot of adjustment to the 'levels' to accommodate people so their perception of a 'lost level' doesn't happen when they begin to drop (and, thus, leave the game feeling like they are gaining nothing and it's all pointless) or create another system to measure success that would pull attention away from their weird ranking system.

I think this may be the case for you (as you have quite a lot of data in your profile already) where your 'level' has begun to hit a point where it's 'leveling off' and so it dropped down one. In this system, it is inevitable that you would lose rank. In fact, it is impossible for anyone to maintain a high rank as the laws of statistics would not allow it (without aforementioned manual adjustment to what it takes to get and hold a certain 'level') given the fact that inevitably everyone would be at a 1:1 ratio if enough data was collected on them and they are playing in 'balanced' matches because of this 'leveling' system.

*Whew*

I hope that all came out where it's somewhat understandable.

Personally, I hate the system. I don't think they should concern themselves worrying about people playing with 'like skilled' players, but rather just let people 'level up' or 'rank up' at their own pace based on their skill (sort of like COD4 and RB6V, etc.). Let their rank from that system help them decide which games they should join and leave the choice with the player, imho. That way players can pick their own level of challenge yet reap the rewards associated with gaining levels/ranks (assuming there would be some linked to it this system even though the current MGO system doesn't seem to link to anything other than making 'balanced' games).

LOL

They are a major pita to find. Some you can only see from a perfect angle at a perfect spot... I think I'm at around 20 now. I was VERY thorough also... Can't believe there's 30 in that place somewhere.

Just finished my first run through. Total time was a little over 20 hours in all.

Finished with 9 emblems. The "main" one being Eagle. Which by the way the yellow ribbons on some of the emblems are the ones you were branded as at the end of each play through.

For all of the bosses except Mantis and Vamp, I used a lot of the RPG-7 and for Vamp, a whole lot of the MGL-140 Grenade Launcher. Everything else took up too much time and I just wanted to get through the bosses. With all of them anyways, it's just a matter of figuring out how to kill them, each has their own way. For me there were only a few really hard parts: the first checkpoint after landing on Outer Haven and fighting Ocelot. It wasn't hard but following that guy for half of Act III pissed me off. That was definitely the low point of the game.
