FWIW James Wan did want to shoot in 15/70mm IMAX, but the cameras don't work underwater and the Karathen's contract stipulated that she wouldn't step foot on land. Very diva behavior but she ended up doing her own stunts and the results speak for themselves.

Hah! That's spot on, although it recently got used on First Man (you can take it to the moon but not underwater apparently, tsk) and Wonder Woman 2 will have some 15/70 usage as well.

So if we ordered the Steelbook 4k the Free Code early is also in 4k?

good to know that Nolan isn't the only one using 70mm IMAX...I say use it right or don't use it at all

It's really disgraceful this didn't get nominated for VFX, even watching the itunes 4k the IMAX scenes are great.

Watched the iTunes 4K in DV and I don't even try to think of myself as an expert, but I cannot wait to rewatch the disc of this. For my money, it might be the best looking movie I've seen on my tv.

I agree I cant wait for the disc. This movie looked incredible on VUDU in DV. The full screen shots were amazeballs (which was 90% of the movie wink wink )

looks like an early contender for 4K Blu-ray of the year...I thought Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse would be the better looking disc but it seems Aquaman has it beat

Jumping on the train.

The VUDU Dolby Vision stream is stunning. The scene of Mera taking Arthur to Atlantis the first time, the colors exploded off my screen. I am super excited to get this disc because if the stream alone is this impressive, the disc is going to look even better.

I haven’t been this astounded by UHD quality since my first viewing of Pacific Rim when I first got my TV.

the best looking digital release I've seen so far has been Infinity War 4K/DV...sounds like Aquaman is better...I'm not going to pick up the Vudu 4K Disc + Digital because I know I'll get tempted to watch the digital version...I didn't see this movie in the theater so I'd rather wait for the 4K disc in 3 weeks for the ultimate experience

2019 is shaping up to be an amazing year for 4K Blu-ray transfers- How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Aquaman, Avengers: Endgame, Into the Spider-Verse, Alien etc

Cause on the aquaman 4K page it doesn’t list it having IMAX scenes.

it's been confirmed from James Wan a few months back that all IMAX scenes would be in the UHD/blu-ray and digital copy screen captures confirmed that also (you can check, it's just a few pages back)...

There are no scenes shot with IMAX cameras, but over half the movie expanded to the taller aspect ratio in IMAX theaters, and the disc and digital releases recreate that.

Since watching this in IMAX, I have been bragging about how good the technical aspects of the movie was and was expecting nothing short of a brutal Atmos mix for the physical media release and looks like this will meet or exceed my expectations. I wanted to pre-order but no way I am spending more than £18. So will be grinding my teeth and trying my best to get at a reduced price.
