Some of the scenes in this film have yet to be bettered - not the film I hasten to add, but some scenes are just incredible. When the Emperor meets the Time Worm and Baron Harkonnens base are just fantastic!

I think that's what I like most about Riddick. The costumes and sets remind me of Dune.

Yeah, the production values of Dune are just amazing. The costumes and sets are incredible, even today.

Yup. Nothing has ever matched that Time Worm scene for me!

Seriously though...it hasnt! Oh and Baron Harkonnens scenes are all great of course. And the bombastic music just seems to suit it so well. Yep I love Dune! I think I like it even more now than I did years ago!

That stuff is really hit and miss. The production design overall is excellent. The execution is inconsistent at times. The costumes are brilliant.

Anyone getting the German release of the 2000 remake next week? I'll be interested to see how it compares to the french release in terms of PQ and if it's cut in any way. It's actually listed as longer than the French release???

I'm considering this myself but uncertain regarding the English audio (some German releases completely remove the English audio and replace with just German eg: first release of Robocop TV Series in Germany, now corrected), and too often French releases have forced French subtitles.

Anyone get this new German release or have it ordered? If I don't hear anything bad in a few days, I might order it. It'd be nice to know if it's locked or not. I'll be kind of annoyed if it is. There's no reason for that stupid shit.

Why the hell is everyone but the US getting this!?!? Now what's the difference between these 3 releases? I hate foreign releases because there's never any info or reviews.

and why the hell does that place say 2-4 weeks for delivery!? I can get the same size package in 3 ****ing days from Japan and it only costs me $15 for FedEx shipping. Yet, it's impossible to get anything from AU, Germany etc in a reasonable amount of time without paying $50 shipping.

I ordered the German release. I have no idea when it will be here though. If nobody updates before mine arrives, I'll let you know.

Goddammit. I was about to order a copy of the AU release, but it's listed as 1080i50. I guess I'll grab the German one for now.

I just read some reviews on Amazon.de . One customer mentions that it's not the extended edition. Only the TV cut is included. Special effects are upscales. PQ is good.
Another customer writes that the pq is far superior in comparison with the DVD edition.
