I wonder if it is the 280 minute TV version or the 265 minute American TV version? The specs say 273 minutes but the reviewer says the specs are wrong. If its the 280 minute version then at least only about 5 or 6 minutes are missing as opposed to 20 minutes. It's rated 16 so that leads me to believe it is probably the 280 minute version since that version had some nudity and other violence.

I only saw one review that was flagged as actually being about the BD version. ****ing Amazon merges the reviews for all releases.

There's definitely the two reviews but yeah all the others are for the DVD version.

I know they have Children of Dune but the only other Dune Blu Ray I saw that said "Extended TV Version" was actually the extended version of the Lynch film that was shown on TV.

That is correct. Also, the only way to watch the extended version in the 2.39:1 ratio is with the 2006 steelbook DVD. The recent DE BD release cropped it to 1.33:1 and gave it a lossy DD 2.0 track. At least the DVD has 5.1.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I was actually on the fence about ordering that "Extended TV" version.

The french BD is the extended one, isn't it? What about the AU release?

Not to my knowledge as I thought all of these to be the 117 minute theatrical cut. AFAIK the recent DE release has been the only BD release to date of the extended cut.

Someone needs to confirm not only which cut, but also the aspect ratio and audio.

Okay I got my copy of the German release today.

Either the packaging is wrong or the reviewer on Amazon is wrong.

The film is listed as "292 Minuten" on the back, which would seem to sync with being the complete extended version. It's split up between 3 parts on 2 discs so I can't get an accurate time without checking all three parts and I haven't had time to do that yet. (Parts 1 and 2 have a play all feature that equals up to 3:13:46.)

It's Region Free and the packaging says 1080p. I only tried it so far on my player that can display 1080i/50hz so if that is incorrect, I don't know (my info button doesn't list 1080p or audio information so I'll have to check later on another player to confirm that) For now, assume the 1080p is correct.

Once I've had a chance to look at it some more, I'll update again but it probably won't be until this weekend.

Well, I hope the packaging is accurate. Mine is on route from Grooves-Inc. I'll watch it when I get it.

Which is incorrect. I just checked the 3rd part. It's 1:37:41 so adding in the 3:13:46 makes it 4:51:28 or 291 minutes and 28 seconds. The packaging is correct since they just rounded up.

Yes it does have English DTS-HD MA 5.1 (although the default is German). Not sure about the second question.
