Target B2G1 would be my main Black Friday expenditure if it happens. Really hoping to lock in my December 4K Blu-ray pre-orders if I can.

Looks like it is $50 off the Series X dropping the price down to $449.99.

I don't shop Target much but noticed a bonus Circle offer in my account mentioning if I downloaded the Target App I would get $10 in Target Circle earnings. I did so and the $10 appeared instantly. Nice, just in time for the B2G1 sale soon.

Yep, same here. I wonder how Target's movie selection is even determined. Did they simply stop doing business with the distributor of Criterion, etc.? Or do they have a buyer/sales manager who makes some calculation based on volume of sales and profit-per-sale that it wasn't worthwhile to carry them? Whatever the cause, it's certainly disappointing for the bargain hunters among us...

I still see random Severin, VS, Shout/Scream, and Arrow titles, but they tend to be limited to pre-orders or stuff that appears to be lingering stock (Arrow's 2018 blu-ray of Deep Red, for example). From Shout/Scream, The People Under the Stairs 4K is still available, but The Blob 4K, My Bloody Valentine 4K, and Pumpkinhead 4K are all gone (and seemingly never available in the first place!). But I was still able to pre-order Fargo 4K and The Dead Zone 4K.

And since the field labelled "Movie Studio" in the product info only lists the distributor, not the names of the boutique labels themselves, the best you can do is search for "MVD", "Music Video Dist", "Studio Distribution Servi" or "OCN" and hope something interesting comes up.

what are people planning to get? now they have removed criterions and WACs, I really haven't followed what are the good deals from a B2G1 from them anymore.

I'm probably not going to get anything if preorders aren't allowed. Looking at the UHDs for JFK, The Man in the Iron Mask, Wandvision, Mandalorian. They don't have Love Actually or Varsity Blues up yet. Don't know if they'll even carry Face/Off or The Monster Squad since they're Kino.

Well I'm just waiting to see if any of their black friday pricing stacks with the b2g1.

Don't really know what titles I have in mind as I'm sure I'll get most at Best Buy. Really need to see what the deals are first.

Let's just say that Best Buy easily beats them out. Unless what I'm looking at aren't the final prices (some of them match up with current app/site prices, some are actually slightly higher for Black Friday

). But gone are the memorable days of the past when $6-$9 blu-ray titles were all the rage, comparable to Best Buy's Black Friday deals. Basically, it seems like a repeat of last year (did Target even have shippers out in 2022?) where "regular" or "Target sale but not really sale to wise collectors like us" prices were the best they could give customers in tandem with the B2G1 promotion. Again, wish that I was wrong and Target could actually prove to be competitive outside of their online B2G1 deals, eligible preorders, etc.

Target has always done shippers, including last year. It's just that 60-70% of it is DVDs, TV shows from yesteryear, and stuff not in its best format. There is very little that is relevant and much of it is regurgitated titles from previous sales and years. I don't care if the blu-ray is $6.99 or $9.99 if a UHD of that title is available. Target has been like a slightly less egregious Walmart that way, with its holiday shippers. With each year being less impressive than the last.

Generally, Target keeps its usual prices for b2g1. There may be a few sale prices, but the discount is through the b2g1.

I don't know if I'm remembering wrong. I thought many years ago when the BF ads leaked online, back when the stores didn't like those leaks and back when Walmart actually had BF movie shippers in store, people were able to figure out the prices of most movies at each store a couple weeks in advance. Weren't large spreadsheets posted so you could figure out which store to buy what movie from long before any BF sales started?

Now it seems we only know what day an early BF sale might start, and we have no idea what price the movies will be because the shippers only say a certain price and up. This makes it very difficult to plan purchases making it likely to buy something at one store only to find out another store has it cheaper later.

Based on the weak video game B2G1 I’m guessing we won’t see many pre-orders included for the movies/tv sale. Would definitely snag the remaining Disney+ 4Ks if so though.
