I just don't see anywhere else for it to go. Plus I would hate it being ruined by having one. I finished my most recent re-watch a few weeks ago and I really appreciated the finale this time, might be one of my favorite episodes (really hard picking out favorites when it comes to that show). The last 15 or so minutes are a perfect ending to me.
The finale made me cry .

money would be better spent adding to the budget. Congrats ads can't even be considered marketing for a film that won't come out for a year.

Well yeah, but I suppose it does help in some way in possibly getting more people to buy the DVD's of the show and check it out.

so they're using fan funding of a movie they wouldnt make to help sell their own existing product.

Well it's not like they took out the ad with that money. Besides, they are supposed to handle advertising and distribution costs. Nothing wrong with them wanting to sell more DVD's of the show. If more people see the show and like it then that's more people to see the movie.

Nothing wrong with them doing the ad - it posits the film as a big deal. That's marketing, even if the film is still a year out. Besides, as MikeScott says, it's coming out of their own pocket, not the Kickstarter funding.

I am glad I stumbled upon this thread. I'll check out the DVD's. It is pretty cool that fans with the support of the creative forces behind a project come together.

Aw man, I was all set to go for the "blinds" shirt design, but now y'all are making me second guess myself. My first impression of the first shirt was that it was a little bland. It just looks like someone slapped a big Veronica Mars sticker in the middle. And there's no reference to the movie at all on that shirt. I liked the originality of the second design. Is it really that ugly?

Someone on Twitter posted a modified version of the "blinds" design to include Veronica's face, which I thought could be interesting:

I've actually never seen the show either even though I did still pledge $100. I've always wanted to blind buy the show and watch it, but the fact that I knew that it never got an ending kind of killed that. The movie actually happening now will give me the opportunity I've been waiting for to finally watch the show, and I wanted all of the stuff in the $100 pledge anyways.

People also forget that there was A LOT of hostility on the Gilmore set for Seasons 4-7.

Lauren and Amy didn't get along well because they're both Alpha Females and Amy didn't like Lauren offering up her own ideas about where her character should go.

After Amy and Dan left, Lauren tried getting out of her contract because once again she was clashing with writers about where they were taking the story.

Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson (Luke) also had a lot of hostility on set, where they basically hated each other but tolerated each other for the sake of the show.

Alexis Bledel and Liza Weil (Paris) also had a lot of vitrol for each other.

None of this was well documented in magazines or publications but its common knowledge amongst industry insiders and the GG fanboards back in the day when Michael Ausiello used to post on Stars-Hollow.net and would literally tell all the drama there but not in his column.

Wow, that's quite a blind buy! Very cool of you. Luckily, I know Veronica Mars can't be recommended highly enough by most who've watched it.

I'm going through withdrawals with no updates!

Those links didn't work for me. I just went to the website. The availability date says 12/31/2014 but obviously it will be before then I'm sure. I don't need to pre-order it as I'll be getting the combo pack with my pledge.

most people who donated are getting the movie free already. This is just opening up pre-orders for anyone who didn't.

On kickstarters comment section, some international backers are saying that they got an email about getting a refund. What's going on? How will this affect the budget?

Based on the comments, those whose backings were denied were from countries not out of the 21 listed for approval.

Currently the Facebook page for the movie has 31,682 fans. Will be interesting to see how it grows until its release.
