Man, Wan sure did hold that shot for that pose there, didn't he?

I will say this about the film, even though I haven't seen it, just from the trailers and clips, the costume designs look absolutely incredible. Amazing craftsmanship from all the SFX people that worked on this project.

I don't even know what you are talking about. I grew up with my dad's comics from the 60's and 70's. Seems like you'd be wrong here about "not being the correct one."

I think Aquaman looks cool in the New 52 comics too.

Here's a little 101 on Aquaman and never (until recently) has he had dark hair, tats, beard, and evil eyebrows.

You may be in the minority but you're not alone - I feel the same way, I was never an Aquaman comic reader and my only experience was the SF version too, not an 80's Jon Bon Jovi on steroids looking dude. Not dumping on it, just seems different than what I was expecting/remembering. Still, I may get this if I see some great feedback from other blind buyers who pulled the trigger.

Anyone else with the digital iTunes 4K noticing how quiet it is? I had to turn it to -12dB on my receiver just to hear it decently. Strong LFE channel though.

On a brighter television with Dolby Vision, I have no doubt that Dolby Vision wipes the floor with HDR10, IMO.
I perused through a few scenes and the MoviesAnywhere UHD HDR10 stream definitely make a few scenes pop more than the VUDU Dolby Vision stream. Noticeably the scene when Arthur gets arrested and comes face to face with Orm for the first time. There’s more added clarity to Orns bright gold suit and the green of Meras bodysuit is definitely greener where on the Vudu DV stream it hits almost teal.

Either way, WB and James Wan have given us a stellar home presentation. I told my uncle who’s lucky enough to have an OLED that he needs to pick this up the day it comes out

People use the "Disney mixes at reference volume!!!" defense but *this* seems like an actual reference track mastered at reference volume. Yes you have to turn it up quite a lot compared to usual loud mixes but it's incredibly immersive and yeah, lotsa bass. The usual loud mixes have bass that's just bland booming but this bass has so much texture and detail, something you can't get from the loud tracks. More Atmos mixes like this, please!

Video was great too. Also I have the US 4K, 3D, and a premium foreign Steelbook pre-ordered so save the *gasp streaming!!!!!* for someone else, thanks. I'm doing my part.

He looks like hook hand Aquaman from the 90s. So you’re not exactly wrong but not right either. He’s inspired by that depiction.

Yeah, 30+ years passed from his creation to the 90's Aquaman that you are talking about....

And that’s relevant how? Batman killed early on and Superman couldn’t fly originally. These characters evolve.

It's relevant because I said I am not a fan of the dark, same old Zack Snyder stuff. It's just not Aquaman to me. 30 years of an established character speaks volumes for many of us that grew up with that Aquaman....

For some, they are into it. I'm not. That said, I'll watch the movie and then decide if I like this particular film but I am not a fan and never will be of changing the look dramatically. I think it's become a cheap ploy.

This Jason Momoa 'Aquaman' just looks like underwater Thor.

I would've rather had a lot of other actors with the traditional Aquaman "look" - Garrett Hedlund, Jensen Ackles, Charlie Hunnam, etc.

That’s fair, preferences will be preferences. I’m just pointing out that his look is derived from comics that precede Momoa’s casting. It’s not a dramatic change if you consider the redesign he’s gone through before (which was the design used for the JL cartoons). So while you may think it’s a cheap ploy, there’s basis for it in the comics.

Aquaman is not dark or similar to Zack Snyder's style. It's a fun movie.

PQ/AQ aside (early word seems great, kinda expected that though)...I'm now just curious as a potential blind buyer if this is a solid enough movie because I can't trust the reviews lol, they're mixed for this at best (and that's being generous). I know it's early, doesn't street for a couple more weeks, but I'm really looking forward to feedback here from others that blind buy it, especially regarding replay value (for content, not eye candy/demo nonsense, if I want demo material to show off a rig, I don't spend $30 on crappy flix, I download free native 4k boring nature clips and watch people ooh and ahh over that...even though this title will probably be a "looker" as a bonus).

It is very entertaining from start to finish and its not a serious movie.

I thought the movie was great. Very entertaining. I would recommend the blind buy + the PQ is going to be awesome on UHD.
