Heat 4K UHD (1995)

So its going to be the current digital version that will be released on disk. Are there some comparison pics between the digital 4k and most recent blu ray? Ive heard some complaints about the colors in the digital 4k

It's the international streaming trade off. US gets THE MANDALORIAN before the rest of the world.....The rest of the world gets 4k remasters of their massive catalog before the US (and conveniently in the same app.....USA will probably have all this stuff on Hulu).

I am fairly certain the issues people have with Disney+ go well beyond funding from January of this year............

No, more than likely Fox had created a 4k HDR graded master when they did the most recent archival restoration work on Heat and Disney used this for their highly compressed streaming mezzanine file version. This same Fox produced global professional grade archival master will be the basis for the 4k disc consumer master.

Is it, though? Fox was not one to remix tracks like other studios. They only did ID4 and that, I believe, was it.



If Disney actually remixed it, the sound will probably be in Atmouse.

Given that “Speed” and “Heat” were his top mentions last year (when Home Alone was supposed to be the end), and a 4K master exists, it’s possible that if these do well then Unbreakable et al could be released. As for this year? That’s my hope.

Heat and Speed will find their ways into my collection. So far only Keep Cases were announced in Germany. No special edition whatsoever. How's it looking in other countries? Any limited special edition announced?

I can't imagine why the company that cares so little about physical media would build an Atmos track for a movie they won't put on Disney Plus in the USA. I fully expect this release to just have normal surround sound, like Die Hard, Predator, Alien and Home Alone. Which doesn't bother me one bit.

There's literally no chance in heck it would happen but it would be great to see this have the much more aggressive theatrical ac3 that's present on the laserdisc release. (I think it's on the first Warner snapper case DVD too.)

Considering one of this film's defining traits is its realistic and extremely intense sound mix, Disney remixing it would be a ****ing tragedy. I doubt I'd even buy it. I'd rather have a 1080p bluray with the proper sound than a UHD with Atmouse audio.
