Exclamation New bugs with 'My Blu-ray collection'

I've written a detailed post and accidentally deleted it *twice* because of accidentally closing the window after I'm done previewing the post or attachment. (Perhaps the post preview and/or attachment link could open a new window so this doesn't happen?) Wasted a lot of time on this so I'm just going to attach a screen shot and summarize.

(1) Tabs of links above, and list of links below, 'My Blu-ray collection' are running into right nav. or breaking bad. See shot.

(2) "My BDs" total has dropped from "203" to "178" without me changing anything.

(3) "Last watched" date stamp has changed to a dash. See shot.

I believe that the video resolution notation is slightly wrong. For example 1080/50i should be 1080i50. This is the proper notation to suggest 1080 vertical lines, interlaced and at a frame rate of 25. Same would go for 60hz content which relates to; 1080i60 at a frame rate of 30.

This confused me too. You can see what is meant, but indeed, the 'i' seems misplaced.
However, when I take a look in my HD-camera, it has a framerate-setting, and the two options are '50i' and '50p'.
So I guess the frequency depends on if it's interlaced of progressive, or... the frequency IS interlaced or progressive.
And apparently not the resolution itself...

The syntax of 1080i50 for example represents 50 fields per second. Where as 1080i/25 represents 25 frames per second (they actually mean the same thing but in a different context, see quote below). When a 1080i50 signal is deinterlaced on a progressive TV i.e. nowadays all LCD, plasma, 25fps content is displayed as it should (Depending on supported signals and the TV's video processing). Same goes for 60hz which when deinterlaced, displays at 30fps. But when a film natively shot at 24fps is encoded at 1080i50 (25fps) you get speed-up.

If anyone would like to chip in if I am mistaken .

Quote:
The frame rate can be implied by the context, while the field rate is generally specified after the letter i, such as "1080i60". In this case 1080i60 refers to 60 fields per second. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) prefers to use the resolution and frame rate (not field rate) separated by a slash, as in 1080i/30 and 1080i/25, likewise 480i/30 and 576i/25.[1] Resolutions of 1080i60 or 1080i50 often refers to 1080i/30 or 1080i/25 in EBU notation.

Cheers.
1MB should be plenty enough for even 2000 pixel tall images for Collection/database display purposes

I think it would be very helpful to have this listing.
thanks.
Well right now, on the Search Movies link https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/search.php you can select production year From: To:

Example result: Movies made from 1940 to 1949 sorted by production year

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/searc...productionyear

What I personally would like would be a field to add the date day month year (BC/AD) of when the story is taking place so I could order them in a The Chronological History of Movies

I always thought it would be cool to have some sort of 'pick a random movie' feature that would just pick one from your collection at random... when your bored and want to watch something but not sure what.. Just a fun idea

Default Incorrect *country flag*

Would a moderator PLEASE correct the Canadian Flag that is displayed throughout the website.
Our country's flag is NOT a three leaf item that looks like cannabis!
The proper maple leaf logo on our flag is a single maple leaf.
I do get irritated every time I see this incorrect display of our national flag.

Yeah....I am patriotic.

thx in advance.

Yeah, you buncha pot-smokers ay...

:P

Actually, to be honest, it doesn't look all that wrong.
It's very hard to get only a couple of pixels on that scale to make it 100% accurate.
I'm not sure with what kind of magnification you've been looking at it, but any difference is barely noticeable.
I doubt that the US-flag has all the stars stuffed into that tiny logo?... I doubt it has only 10, thus 10 states...
The same goes for the stripes as well...

Maybe that's something usable. But I'm not sure on how necessary that is.
But on that same idea, maybe it would also be interesting if it would just randomly pick a title out of all of them.
Or otherwise out of a genre or something like that, just different filters.

With the new iPad released and im sure hundreds of members like myself bought it, can we expect the Blu-ray app for iOS to be optimized on release dates.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread for this, but I used to be able to simply click on "Movies" at the top of the page, then click on "Top Rated" to get to this page: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/top.php?show=userrating

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get there from within this site, but was unable to. I tried several google searches, and was eventually able to find a link by searching "top rated blu-ray movies".

Being able to select genres, the different rating choices, and user or reviewer ratings is one of my favorite things about this site. I'm not sure if I just don't know where to find this option within this site, or if there no longer is an option.

Thanks for your help.

lol I just noticed this post. It exemplifies my point perfectly. The page through that link was how it used to be and how I liked it. Why did you change it?

Hey Iceman,

Is it possible to show more than just (Title, Year, Runtime, Discs & Comments) in the "Printer Friendly" view? How about also adding the other "optional info", like "Date Added", "Date Last Watched", "Price Paid" or "Price Paid Comment"?

I would like that Blu-Ray.com create a field to include Portuguese European and Brazilian subtitles. It's a very important information.

I've added a simple UPC/EAN exporter for now.
