Dudes, all these movies will have Dolby Vision. Ignore what the "specs" say. Pre-order now because these are limited editions. If you dislike them after you receive them, return them. Simple.

Hey, looks like we're getting Dolby Atmos for all of them too. I'm gonna just say it's all gonna have DV too.

According to a YouTuber I find very annoying (In Search of Physical Media) but gets insider info these will be new scans (at least for the first film) that fixes black crush, adds Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos (that supposedly blows away the DTS X) in addition to the DTS X tracks. All I really want is Jurassic Park with a proper looking film transfer with grain. He said they're only going to be released in these steelbook trilogy sets though and they're limited but I hate that as I just want to buy the first Jurassic Park. They need to just release them individually in standard cases.

I’d be shocked if this was a full new scan, considering it’s being released as part of a limited trilogy pack. It’ll likely be the old master with slightly improved HDR thanks to Dolby Vision and maybe a slightly better encode.

I still hope to see Blade Runner re-released on disk with DV and a slightly better encode, so I’m not hating.

That “scoop” sounds like pure wishful thinking, but I’d be happy to be wrong, and to quote The Simpsons, “prove me wrong kids!”

He also announced Commando is coming with DV but no word on Atmos. We'll see. I'll likely be downloading Jurassic Park until it gets a standalone release if that's the case and it is getting a new transfer that they're holding hostage in steelbook set. I ain't buying the other movies.

He likely mentioned Commando as that one has had a 4K master with DV for a while now, like the Die Hard sequels.

I mean, it literally says "newly remastered" on the back. Universal don't usually do that unless it's a new transfer, like with Shaun of the Dead. That was another one with a DV/DA upgrade too, and dare I say involved more actual remastering work than what JP would need because it was originally finished to a 2K DI.

When it comes to these sets, I almost always pre-order. You never know when they'll run out. Case in point the Ghostbusters: Ultimate Collection, which I'm VERY glad to have pre-ordered because I missed out on the GB 1/2 steelbook set a few years prior.

I keep waffling on the Jurassic World series, and whether to get that too. Ultimately, those are much less rewatchable than the OT to me, and I already have the existing versions the Jurassic World trilogy (Fallen Kingdom and Dominion are awesome A/V discs, but only "ok" movies). So I'm essentially "stuck" with an HDR10/DTS-X version of Jurassic World. I think I'm ok with that.

I ordered the remasters of OT right away that first night. To me it just wasn't worth taking the chance of not having them if #1 and #3 have been fixed (more so #1). The steelbook art is absolutely atrocious, so I'll figure something out. I may just take the Steelbook with the blu-rays in the 25th Anniversary set out and slide the new 4K OT Steelbook in.
