not one of my favorite fulci films but ill definitely be picking this up.
it has always stood out from the rest of his films, but i prefer his supernatural surreal movies like The Beyond, House By the Cemetery and City of the Living Dead. ill take what i can get in terms of Fulci on blu ray though, and ill probably still keep my old anchor bay red case dvd

Ah, but you mention his 3 masterpieces!! It's really not fair to compare his other work to these 3...

Amazon shipped The New York Ripper yesterday. And Play shipped Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer last week.

Looks like October will be a great month to spend in front of my TV.

Oh my god. I just watched the new blu-ray of this last night, and it's UNBELIEVABLE the job that Blue Underground did on the video transfer!!

Seriously, probably THE biggest upgrade from standard DVD in my entire collection, and I'm not making that up. I never thought I'd be commenting on the crystal clear PQ of a Fulci title, but they must have gone back and re-scanned the original 35mm negatives for this one.

The colors, the detail, everything is about 20X better than any previous DVD edition.

Job well done, Blue Underground!

I have the new york ripper on DVD, waiting to see some PQ reviews before I jump and make the upgrade to blu. 99.99% of the time I upgrade to Blu, but for this picture I dont know how much of a difference it will be to justify spending 30 bucks.

I noticed people talking about Henry in this thread, I never saw it, should I blind buy? I love crime and horror movies, some people say Henry is great others say it is boring...

Dude, read my post above you. It's probably the most dramatic upgrade I've made from a DVD. The PQ is really, really that much better.

You will be amazed at what they've been able to accomplish with The New York Ripper.

And YES!!!!!! Buy it! This is one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time! This is what horror should be all about. This is dark, dark, dark...

Very disturbing and SO nasty (but not in a stupid Saw kind of way...).

A must have!!!

Gallo type movies by directors like Fluchi and Argentino are pretty brutal and get use to seeing gore and abuse. Italian movies by these two directors take some time getting used to. If you have a weak stomach, this may not be your cup of tea. My favorite Fluchi movie is ZOMBIE and For Dario Argentio it is Susperia, demons 1 & 2

Love to hear the quality of this movie on BD.

Yes.....its not a horror movie in the jump out and scare you kind of way but its more of a horror in knowing there are people out there right now who think like Henry....classic movie.

Just so you know Demons 1 & 2 were only produced by Argento. They were directed by Lamberto Bava son of Mario Bava.

There's a new DVD issue of Blood And Black Lace in Australia http://www.cdwow.com/DVD/BLOOD-BLACK-LACE/dp/4536191 The same company are rumoured to be doing The Whip And The Body. Shame they aren't blu. I'd be happy with any Bava on blu but Lisa And The Devil would be most appreciated. If you're a Bava fan you simply have to have Tim Lucas' book All The Colors Of The Dark.
