Here are the screens from my disc. They are far better than EROS BDs and its very good. The lossy audio formats sucks though. But, Sivaji BD is definitely of superior quality IMHO.

IMPORTANT

Since we're really trying to help along the Blu-ray train for Indian films, could someone, if they bought New York on BD, also write a user review? It might just help.

Based on the screenshots posted here and if they actually represent the video quality on the BD, I think I would personally find it to be acceptable quality. This Yash Raj BD seems to be leagues better than the absolutely abysmal BDs released by Eros. But then again this has been the case for long with DVDs also where the 'Yash Raj' DVDs have generally been far better than anything Eros has ever released. The fact remains that Eros has been the worst in terms of quality of DVDs amongst all the major Bollywood video companies. On the other hand, although Yash Raj has never been upto the mark, they have been one of the better ones. As the saying goes in Hindi, "Andho Mein Kaana Raja". Which means, "Amongst the blind, the one eyed man is king".

Although these screenshots look promising as far as video quality of Yash Raj BDs are concerned, the lossy audio is certainly not acceptable. Guys, BD is supposed to be HD video & audio and not just video. Why is it that for Hollywood BDs nothing less than lossless audio is acceptable, but when it comes to Bollywood BDs we somehow have to accept lossy audio? It's not like we pay any less, rather Bollywood BDs generally cost more at retail on average than Hollywood BDs.

The screenshots look really awesome, if not for the lossy audio track I would have definitely bought this one.

The movie is shot very well, is more real than most Bollywood movies, and it must be seen in HD to truly appreciate this gem of a movie.
If it's DTS at 1.5 Mbit/s the difference to lossless is minimal.
