Mr Myagi is gonna be replaced by Jackie Chan and Daniel Larusso is going to be replaced by Will Smiths son Jaden Smith, the same little kid in The Day the Earth Stood Still. But in stead of being the Karate Kid it will be called the kung fu kid. Me and my friends where heart broken when we heard about this 80's classic being remade. I actually yelled out loud noooo!!! in my house when I heard of Pat Moritas death on the news. If you want to read more. I made a thread about this movie and subject. Just check out my thread guys!!!

Just like every other film on here. Chuck Norris can redo them.

I was just talking to my friend about the recent barrage of Horror Movie remakes. 1st "Halloween" then "Friday the 13th" and now "Nightmare on Elm Street"

I feel it was easy to remake "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" Because the 2 icons wore masks... However Robert Englund's face IS Freddy!!

I was too young to watch those films when they were out and since just haven't bothered to see them but growing up Roberts FACE is what made that character, at least to me it was.... IDK about this new version... with a new actor playing the role...

Oh, and another film that suffer if it were remade today: Clue. Absolutely spot on chemisty between the cast, great story (stories?), and brilliant acting by everyone involved.
Rhona Mitra was a different character than Kate Beckinsale. I agree that she was a fine choice to play Sonja in Rise of the Lycans. What I was saying was nobody could replace Kate Beckinsale as Selene, which is Kate's character.

I also want to toss out Johnny Depp in ALL his movies... I think hes the most versatile actor alive today.

I also have to disagree with Judy Garland in the Wizard of OZ. She did great job I dont dispute that at all . However I think if the movie was remade it could work. maybe give Dakota Fanning a few yrs to grow up... God knows the was the only real actor in "War of the Worlds" (yes that was a shot at what a poor actor Cruise is

Robert Englund can't be replaced but Judy Garland can? With Dakota Fanning?

Another addition to the list of people I won't be taking seriously.

Bill murray, in fact the entire cast of ghostbusters. This film just would not work if remade, in fact "It would be bad." Julie andrews as Mary Poppins and Maria in the sound of music. A remake of both these films would be tragic, if anything Julie Andrews is Mary Poppins and Maria.

That I have to agere with

Think Peter O'Toole is pretty much embedded in our minds as Lawrence of Arabia,so that might be hard to redo with another actor.

The entire cast of One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest. It will be a sad day when they remake that one.

I don't even want to try to imagine how they could replace that cast, that was one in a million.

Love this forum because it reminds me what to watch. Just put in the DVD of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. After 4 and a half minutes I'm saying to myself. "F---, this is a great movie!"

GOOD NEWS: Just asked my wife, who is Taiwanese, if I have to wait until this movie comes out with Mandarin subtitles to buy it on Blu-ray. She said, No! She doesn't really care for the movie. it will be in my next Amazon order.

How great was Danny DeVito in that one.

After this watching Goin' South.
