Sony PS3 as a decent Blu-ray player - Page 3 - Blu-ray Forum

I know it's hard to get specs now. I hope we hear a lot at E3. One other question. I know this may not be known yet but I know most blu-ray players will upconvert standard dvd's. Any idea if the PS3 will do this? I"m shocked how much press HD-DVD is getting and from what I hear they are selling well and Toshiba can't keep up but I don't know what the numbers are. Maybe they made few and I know HD-DVD got a head start but I can't wait to see what happens June 25th and then most of all when the PS3 comes out. I already have a pre-order in and can't wait!

Toshiba originally claimed to have shipped 10,000-15,000 players. According to the latest info, it was only 6000 units. Nearly all of which have sold.

Sony's press conference is set for 4pm PDT today at the E3. Just a head's up.

I really they come out with some concrete information and a PS3 up and running with some real hardware and real software. That would be a pleasant shock, I would think, but considering that this system is supposed to launch worldwide come November...am I really asking for too much?

They need to knock people on their ass at this E3
