I have to say, I've seen just about every one of Hitchcock's films ( many multiple times ), and own most. Choosing one is as near an impossible task as I could imagine.
I choose Lifeboat today, but there are many that I could easily switch to

, depending on my mood. That is after all what collecting film is about... having the film that matches your particular mood at any given time, and as your mood changes, so does you 'favorite' film. IMHO

Vertigo is his best. So many of his movies are amazing, but the degree of enjoyment one derives from watching the majority of them depends on wether it's the first viewing. Vertigo has a great twist, but there's something very powerful about it on another level that invites several repeat viewings (at least for me).

I picked "North by Northwest", but I pretty much like them all, in particular, "Rear Window", "The Birds", "Vertigo", "Psycho", and all the others too.

I must be the only voter for Family Plot! I don't know why but i really loved that movie, it just had a quirkiness i liked.

Hitch's creative output from the early 50s to 1960 was simply incredible.
