Yeah, it's a great neo noir. It was on netflix streaming a few months ago. Not sure about now.

Man, i just saw this movie at a pawn shop for $9.99. I did not think it had good reviews. I might have to go right back to pick it up. If it is sill there. I think it just came out yesterday.

I thought it was fairly good. Nic did a great job in the acting department. The story was so-so and it was a bit quirky at times, but overall...not bad. For $15, I am not disappointed

Well I went back to the pawn shop and they still had it. So we shall see. I try not to blind buy, but for $9.99+tx it was worth the risk.

and several others speak volumes of his ability. I was a fan of his performances in Knowing and Next as well (though they were average movies)

Actually, despite the terrible script, I thought he played a great Johnny Blaze in Ghostrider and am looking forward to a much better 2nd one. However, Bangkok Dangerous, Wickerman are 2 of about 8 or 9 forgettable movies.

I'm guessing it got deleted. I wasn't buying this movie since I already have it from Netflix, but I did notice the thread you are talking about though when it was first posted. The coupon was weird since it had Blu-Ray spelled wrong on it.

I didn't really follow the thread after I first saw it since I'm not buying this, so I can't really tell you if the coupon was bogus or not. It's possible that the thread got deleted because the person who started it posted the whole coupon instead of just a link to it. I watched this last night. It has a colon in the title, so it looked a bit iffy. But the good reviews convinced me to see it anyway.

Cage's acting is good and bad. Yes, he's competent as usual, but he also does his goofy, manic yelling thing we've seen so many times. The story comes and goes, from interesting and tense to "look at your watch". Fairuza Balk is looking mighty good these days. I'd give it about a 2.8 out of 5.

I finally got a chance to watch this yesterday and I was very pleasantly surprised. Good story, good cast and solid acting. Nic Cage still has a lot of life left in him, someone should give that man some more meaty roles.

has anyone watched their copy yet??? specifically those that purchased via amazon. at around the 1 minute mark the audio drops out and comes back and drops out again on the Dolby TrueHD track. i've gotten 2 discs now from amazon and both did this. the regular Dolby Digital track plays fine. can someone check their copy and see if they have the same problem?

I didn't get my copy via Amazon but I've experienced a couple audio drop-outs. On the first viewing it happened early in the film and then in the middle of the "dancing soul" scene--which was a major buzzkill. Just now I tested it again, briefly. There was a dropout in about the first 40 seconds, nothing at the 1+ minute mark; then I fast-forwarded to the dancing soul scene and there was another dropout--albeit at a different time than I remember from the first viewing. (DD track played fine.) I have a Samsung BD-P1600 connected to an Onkyo TX-SR605.
I'm a patient person but this sh*t pisses me off. It really takes you out of the movie.

It's more like Ebert's a huge fan of Werner Herzog as a director - he has Aguirre the Wrath of God in his Top 10 films of all time, as well as numerous 4 star reviews of many of his films.
