How long does it normally take orders to get to the US? I ordered Bourne on December 19 and still haven't received it. I emailed them, and their customer service just told me to wait another 10 days (the estimated delivery date was January 5), because they couldn't track it. Then they will "look into it." Anyone have similar experiences? Can they really not track their own packages? Surely even using royal mail, they at least have delivery confirmation, right? I don't want to wait two months total for them to send me a replacement.

Where do you live in the U.S.? East coasters should expect an order to take no longer than a week from being shipped. Obviously people in the Midwest and West might have to wait longer. But items can get stuck in customs occasionally that add an extra week or two to the delivery.

I live in South Carolina. I guess I'll wait another few days before totally freaking out, since it was shipped during the holiday craziness.

Many region A players can still not handle PAL playback. It depends on the manufacturer and model.

Since you are in the US, I am willing to bet your television will not accept the signal and you won't even be able to watch it. Its region free so the blu-ray player will attempt to send the signal but the television won't know how to interpret it. The problem is the standard for TV/Film industry in the US versus in the UK are different core playback rates, the US films at 24fps and the UK at 25fps. So 50hz (PAL) type signals won't be viewable; the 24fps signals are viewable because US TVs have 3:2 pull-down built into them when they recognize this signal they do this, a 25fps (meant for 50hz) signal will just be unknown.

You are talking of the PAL component (extras and stuff) and NOT the movie, correct?

John

Hi John, in certain instances it can apply to the whole disc. The recent Gavin and Stacey sets (Region Free BBC/2 Entertain releases) were unplayable on a Region A player due to the 50hz issue.

Can anyone confirm the PQ of the Godfather trilogy is the same between Amazon UK and Amazon.com? Are the special features the same as well?

Yeah, I recently got CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and ALMOST FAMOUS, both unavailable in the U.S., for around $15 each w/shipping. Got it shipped to me (in Seattle) about a week later. I think that was a great deal!

Seems the boxset sales are for January. Are these going to go up in Feb? I would like to get the Battlestar Galactica set, but not in a rush. What do you guys think?

I took advantage of the Amazon Prime (1) month trial and plan to get the (3) month trial very shortly. Does the Prime shipping work for the UK as well as the USA?

Thanks!

I'm afraid it doesn't. But I found the shipping charge to be quite reasonable and I got my Blus pretty quickly (within a week).
