Default Battlestar Galactica Gets New Packaging This April

Quote:
We have learned that Universal Studios Home Entertainment plans to repackage Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series on both Blu-ray and DVD, with smaller and more practical packaging on April 6th. All four seasons will be included, each individually packaged and housed in an outer box. Blu-news.com can also confirm that both ‘The Plan‘ and ‘Razor‘ specials will be included.

Like the previous set, The Miniseries will be included on disc one, while Razor will be included on the 15th disc of the set. New to the set is The Plan, which will receive a disc all to itself (identical to the currently available standalone disc).

We are currently awaiting final packaging art, but we should have it soon enough and we’ll update accordingly.

Quote:
Today we learned Universal intends to release a new complete series Battlestar set on Blu-ray April 6, the same day season two debuts on Blu-ray, that is not tagged as a limited edition. This set will include all four individually packaged season 1-4 box sets housed within a new outer case. The Plan will also be included and presumably Razor as well, though we cannot fully confirm the latter at this time.

This new Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series set will carry an SRP of $299.95 or $50 less than the previous set listed for. On-shelf pricing should settle in around the $200 mark.

Awesome news. Glad I waited. I wonder if Caprica will make it to Blu Ray? By the way is Caprica an ungoing series or a stand alone series?

It's an ongoing series, the pilot aired last week (which was both extended and edited for content from the original DVD release) and the first normal episode airs tonight (in the US at least)

thx for news but... em, razor is already in the current complete series boxset .

only thing that is missing is The Plan and 2 bonus features from miniseries and season1 (which i hope they re-encode... but i doubt they will).

I caved and bought the UK Edition. I am very happy with it but I am glad the US version is getting a makeover.

That's just a guess. The MSRP is $50 less than the original set, so it could be cheaper than that.

Hi, I was wondering how long it took for you guys to receive your new packaging. I read that most of you recently got it within the 2 week time frame, but did any of you get it past the 2-3 week time frame? I hope my mail didn't get lost or anything since it's going to be almost 4 weeks for me. It would suck to not receive it, and had to cut my season 1 box up for nothing . Also did it arrive for you guys via FedEx, UPS, USPS or other? Thanks!

I mailed my information via certified mail on 5/20, it was delivered on 5/25, and I received my packaging from FedEx on 6/01.
