Regarding the trilogy pack: Does anyone know if the discs with the first two films on are going to have the same special features they had on the DVD releases? Do you think each film will come in a seperate case? (Similar to the Mission Impossible trilogy pack?)

We're never satisified, huh? We finally get Spider-man and we want Spider-pig.

Can't buy S2 alone. I guess I'm in a holding pattern then.

Cool! I will be pre-ordering the trilogy. My wife will make me put it aside for Christmas.....but that's ok.

PEOPLE! Read the two links! One was in my post and the other was from Manco!

To clarify, Spidey-3 BD's MSRP is US$49.95. The Spidey Trilogy in BD costs US$98.95. I think it is clear that SPHE wants you to buy the box set, rather than just Spidey 3.

Paramount did it first with Mission:Impossible.

3. How long has SPE had to whip us up some form of a special edition SM1? PLENTY long...
I'm waiting for paidgeek to answer my question but I think the bonus materials on Spidey-1 are all in SD. Hence no SE. I could be wrong.

I won't quite be needing a tissue here, simply due to the fantastic job SPE has been doing for while now, BUT, for the love of god, is this how you treat your flagship franchise
I do agree that if SPHE wants us to get the box set than just Spidey-3, the rest of the movies should be a 2-disc set as well, just like M:I. Like I said, I'm waiting for paidgeek's word.

Don't think so. Not unless the extras are all packed in the BD50 and it's all in SD.

Probably not since it's a box set. I mean, why have a box set but plain packaging? I could be wrong.

The Spidey-2 will have the theatrical version and the extended version. The extended version was released on DVD prior to Spidey-3's theatrical release; so you can rent and see what's included.

Spidey-2 BD will be using the seamless branching feature, according to paidgeek.

Would it be better to buy them seperately? Or are there ones you just don't want?

It says in the article that the 'High Definition Trilogy' will be the only opportunity for the consumer to get the first 2 Spiderman movies on Blu-ray disc. Does that mean that Sony won't be releasing these titles individually (at a later date)?

^ The HD-DVD group made the arguement after the sales figures between The Matrix and POTC's first week in High-Def was due to pricing of the titles.

I enjoyed the movies greatly, but it would be wise to have all three available seperately as well.

Maybe it will be the only opportunity at this stage. Unless they are planning to release Spider-Man as a box set only? But then why release the third film seperately?

I'm amazed more people aren't screaming about the $50 price. It's outrageous

It's going to be standard procedure until there's more copies being sold
There are too many other titles coming out this fall for me to bother with Spidey box, especially when I'm looking at a $50 Spidey 3.

They already did, back in 2001

I think it means around the release time.

I expect they'll do what Paramount did with MI. They'll release them individually next year. Or perhaps revist 1 and 2 with special editions.
