Heh. My Slim was primarily a Blu-Ray player, so I hadn't updated firmware in a while. Once the firmware update was in place, my Slim can't connect either.

having the same issue. Seems to be affecting the 'fat' PS3s.....just did a PS3 backup to my external harddrive today....never can be too sure....

im having the same problem, i feel better now knowing that all of you have it too, i thought i did something wrong. i have the old ps3 btw. even the ps3 website is down, anyone else notice that?

I just loaded up and played PAIN with no problems, other then the fact that I was playing PAIN.

Apparently this is a big problem. I thought it was just my system, but I have found many sites (gamefaqs and Sony's own boards) swamped with this.

Yeah i just tried to turn on my PS3 (no B/C 80GB "fat" PS3) and it had the error message too. I think sony has been having problems with the trophies lately because I just completed the "auditore cape" and "statuette" trophies for assassins creed 2 and should have gotten the platinum and nothing happened...i want that d**m platinum trophy!!!
