i think thats one of the bigger things we can do. convince ps3 owners to start buying blu-ray. i think a lot of them don't realize the difference

I spread the good word, but there are non-believers that resist conversion.

My cousin once said he liked the xbox addon because it was so cheap, and he had heard PS3s don't play 'real' blu-rays, to which I remarked, are you f'ing retarded? I gave him the facts, but he is an idiot after all.

The other day a CC employee described the difference between an HD and BD player as the HDDVD player played 24p, that's all (every player in there played true 24p). I would have gladly knocked him upside the head for that. I stayed in the same aisle to listen for more BS. Turned out the guy bought an HD Tivo, so crisis averted.

I once tried to convince a Xbox360 buyer to wait 2 weeks for the Xbox Elite to come out. A BB said there was no real difference between the two(HDMI!), and the guy believed him over me. Some people out there are a special kind of stupid.

2:1 disc sales
larger capacity
more sound ability
industry support
toshiba uses DVD patent profits to subsidize expensive players far below actual value to force industry stalemate
that's about it in a nutshell

unfortunately, none. my brother and sister are betting on HD DVD (but they are no technology person). My parents stick with DVD. I sided with BD.

There are only 3 entities I am interested in converting to blu-ray.

1. Warner (WB) Fully BD
2. Universal
3. Paramount / Dreamworks

Some of the smaller guys are "gimmies" and will join when they see everyone else supports BD.

1, My brother Darrell Moore. I don't convince him, he saw it on my hdtv and think about it. I havent hear from him yet, He was to have PS3 3 days ago. He said that it was for Blu-ray! He know alot about hd, etc. He pick Blu-ray over HD DVD.

It was based by watch some movies on my Blu-ray, PS3. He knew that PS3 is best player. All he said it look so pretty, cripple clear. He know that my family hdtv is 1080i but he believe it will look best on 1080p hdtv set too.

I got this friend to whom I sometimes talk about Blu and he eventually got a PS3 though so far he has not purchased Blu movies. But I sometimes ask him when he will do so.
You have to remember that over here there is still little movies choice and high prices (around 30 euros/movie -> 45 dollars)

Ok, I'm a Blu-ray lover too, but saying HD DVD is "lesser quality, lower price" is not fair. You really should be impartial as a sales person.

When my friends ask, I explain that the image and sound quality between both formats are negligible, but the studio question is the best way to lean them towards the format that best suits them.

One definately sold on Blu. I bought my friend a PS3 for doing my taxes for me the last 4 years and now he's hooked.

Still trying to get him online, though, to kick arse together in COD4.

Just got my dad a PS3 with spidey for christmas. He was going to get a EP35 for the free Bourne movie so I had to step in and spend some cash on him so he wouldn't end up with a £300 door stop.

Just a thought, if you put a blu ray movie in the box with the PS3 surley everyone would know it could play Blu rays?

Just a thought
