Exactly, I can use that $ on something else, like BD movies or PS3 games or a 2nd PS3 for another room (like the $399 version coming out since they are futureproof).

To much for 1 game or even 2-3 games.

They are milking this 1, special edition console, special controllers, 3 game versions and special headset ect. ect.

I do not have a lot of hate for the game, though I do not own or intend to own a 360. M$ took a nice long piss on all of their consumers with the dumping of the xbox and that is just too much disrespect to all of us who spend their hard earned dollars on these games. Most of my distaste for the game comes from is way to over hyped launch. They amke it seem like the god of all games when it was just a small step. I think UT set the online standard by which all others follow (even today) and the original Unreal set the story/setting standard for a fps. Halo 2 was horrible and just added to what they already knew. People will flock out to buy something because they say it is the greatest and throw enough advert bucks behind it to be sure you know. I mean do you all not remember that Halo was to be the game of games for everyone PC and Mac alike and M$ just bought it out right then made it an exclusive to ensure console sells. To top it they released a half ass sequel with loads of advert dollars behind it. I hope all who buy it enjoy it. I will be happy with UT when it comes out and great new games like Haze. I have no trust an M$ and they will get as little of my money as I can enforce.

Halo 3 is probably an impressive game but don't believe the hype. I purchased Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for PS3 last week and have been playing online and am very impressed with the play.

It's not too often I get hooked into a game - but if Halo 3 is much better then the under-rated Ghost Recon, I would be very surprised.

I own both... rarely play 360 though. I also hate halo... so no. i wont be buying halo 3 tommorow.

I'm a Xbox gamer first, before a PS3 gamer.

Basically, I barely play games on the PS3 (though Heavenly Sword is excellent) and the 360 gets most of my game hours.

That being said, I don't and won't own HD-DVD...strictly Blu-Ray for movies. So my PS3 really gets more use than the 360.

As for Halo 3...can't wait. Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Heavenly Sword, now Halo 3, Orange Box in a couple weeks...it's been a good month or so for gaming. I am a Halo fan though...so I understand the hype. I can't tell you how many hours I spent with the original game.

Halo is gona have 16 players online. After playing with 39 other people with resistance and 31 others on warhawk... 16 seams like a JOKE. I was paying for Xbox live. Not any more. SONY FOR FREE.. My Son is a RB6 freek. Dont have a subscription to Xbox anymore. Dont need it anymore. MS has robbed me for the last time.

What can I say...I won't play a MP game over 16 people. Too many people. Halo with 4 people is PERFECT. I have no idea why people get hung up on that issue...too many people is just a mess without the right game. Certainly that's a cool experience, but it's hardly something every game needs.

Personally, never really been into Halo. Don't think it's a horrible series by any means. They're definitely well made games, but I'd rather spend my time playing God of War or Heavenly Sword.

Not Me. The main reason I have a playstaion 3 is because of the Blu ray player. If the 360 had a built in Hi Def player, maybe i would own one, then i would have a need to buy Halo3.

I know when sales start to slow down for the 360 they will release a version with a built in player. I'll wait til then.

As it is right now I want to buy stand a lone Blu ray player for my Home theater and i'll be darn if I buy another console

Not too many years ago, I bought an Xbox solely for the reason to play Halo. The reasons why I liked it so much was the story line, the absolutely rockin' soundtrack, the weapons and vehicles. And driving like a bat out of hell in your jeep (or whatever they called it) trying to escape an exploding starship set to self destruct....too sweet.

So I had big expectations for Halo 2, all which were not met. I never got a Xbox360 due to all of the hardware failures and fear by the time they get their act together, a new offering by microsoft will be emminent and once again, I'll get the shaft.

I'm very pleased with my PS3. I have a small game collection but like all that I do own and love blu ray movies. I do think Sony needs to provide an answer to Halo 3 release as it's sure to be huge and I hope they have some huge rabbits up their sleeve.

So on one hand, I sort of want to be able to play Halo 3, but not enough to justify getting a console that I have to worry about dying on me or to trust micosoft to start respecting their gaming consumers. Sorry.

Yeah i do have Halo envy. I got the original xbox with Halo with it first came out in 02. Loved everything about Halo. Shit me and my friend stay up for like 12 hours more or less till we beat the game. Halo 2 was ok, but nothing like the first. And i would not mind buying it at all, and the 360 either. But there's that fear or the reliability of the console, so just that alone is pushing me away. If the 360 was as solid as the PS3 i would have gotten one.
