For a radio contest, I sat through Titanic almost 8 consecutive times. 24 hours. About 40 people stayed awake the whole 24 hours. Everyone answered every question about the movie correctly (they quizzed us afterwards). The winner was finally chosen when they started asking questions about the real Titanic. The winning question was, "What was the name of the room where they stored the potatoes?" Only one person knew that. It isn't "galley." He won a cruise.

As a kid I did this all the time. I'd spend an entire day at the theater going from screen to screen. If I fell in love with a movie I'd sit through it multiple times (Raiders, any Star Wars). Funny how I never got kicked out.
![]() Nowadays, I may rarely watch a movie twice at home but only for commentary which usually means my back is to the screen and I'm just listening while I attend to other tasks. |

Back in the "good ole days (mid 1980s)," I could sit through double features of various James Bond movies twice in one day at the Harvard Square Cinema. They never seemed to show them in the right order though; Thunderball followed by Dr. No for instance.

I remember being watched by a family friend while my Mom and step father went out one night when I was like 9 and watching Star Trek: First Contact twice within a few hours of each other. Good 'ol HBO East and West. The only other time I did it was the day Dredd hit blu. Showed it to two groups of people.

back in the day when I was just 12 years old my uncle was a projectionist at this theatre that was just a few blocks from my house.Mom and dad had to both work so the school bus would leave me in front of the theatre so my uncle could take care of me until my folks picked me up.Star Wars played there for over a year and I sat in that theatre to watch it at least twice a day.I must know that film line for line.I love that film but for some reason JAWS is still my #1.As for same day Empire Strikes Back. All 5 showings on opening day and I went back the next day to do the same. The theatre manager gave me a job cleaning the theatre after every show so I didn't have to pay.I became a projectionist myself for over 22 years. Those were the days.
