I would have rejected it too.

If you don't care enough about your own property why should Sony.

I seen these pics the other day. This person is a total pig and should be ashamed of themselves. Sony has no obligation to fix this under waranty in my opinion due to obvious negelect. Thats like saying your car dealer should re paint your whole car because the paint is peeling and you never washed or waxed the car.

Since December? How reliable was it before December?

A part of business is dealing with customer stupidity and just blowing out this unit and fixing it would have been less costly than all the bad pr. Personally this just sounds like a bad call by the technician. I occasionally reverse the tubes on my vaccum and blow out my pc that collects a lot of dust. Any repair center would have dust cans or some sort of blower to clean out dust.

While this person definitely should have taken better care of the unit, the technicain refusing to repair it was just being lazy. How would you feel if your mechanic refused to work on your car because the engine was coated in oil and was too messy?

They offered to fix it for 150$? That is a great deal. They are basically saying his negligence broke the PS3 but they will clean it and replace any broken parts for 150$ which I find reasonable. It is not like they told him to F off.

I was going to agree with the owner until I saw the pictures. There's no way that should be under warranty.

He claims that he cleaned it up and this is nothing more than the glossy finish showing every imperfection. I claim that the Sandman from Spiderman 3 actually came to life and attacked his PS3.......................or, no, there is no or, he's a slob.

It looks like he freaking went mudding with it, but that's the exterior.

Really the matter is the interior...

And I still stand by my original statement, more so after seeing those pics. No freaking wonder it bricked.

Okie, he admits dust got into the memory stick ports, asks how you clean dust out from there... Then says he left the MMC reader closed and never used it... Which means... that large pool of dust ... just phased through the mmc reader plastic cover...

My bet is that he had it installed in:

a) The trunk of a filthy vehicle that drives up and down dirt roads regularly.

b) In the cab of a work truck in the oil fields that is constantly having dirt brought in and out.

That isn't dust on his PS3, that's dirt. This guy abused his system, didn't take care of it then expects Sony to replace it under warrenty? He should be ashamed.

I mean my God, it looks like Indiana Jones just uncovered that thing in some sort of ancient Egyptian catacomb.
