My copy from WB Shop should arrive tomorrow. Really looking forward to finally seeing the whole film. Excellent 4.5's for the transfer.

Yeah...I thought the same thing. haha

Jason's grumpy, antisemitic brother, perhaps?

I really liked this movie but I don't remember it too well. It should be a nice one to revisit on Blu-ray.

Anyone else notice WB just did a solid with this Blu-ray release on a 50 GB disc with 24 bit audio and 27 mbps transfer? It sort of surprised me considering the release of Sorcerer is only on a 25 GB disc and is a lot more compressed... but one a lot more people wanted to see on Blu-ray (hence the Digibook).

Regardless, It's good that this film has received a nice release! I will certainly be purchasing it now.

Picard is pretty much awesome with anything he does, even being silly:

I am so looking forward to this.

I know I saw it in the theater a couple of times when it was first out (back when I went to the movies a couple of times a week), and probably once or twice on video, but I've never owned it and haven't seen it in many years.

I was a bit taken aback by the review - it's clear he just isn't a fan. I think it's great for what it is - a relatively old fashioned movie-star thriller with some great "guest stars" - I had totally forgotten about Patrick Stewart. That really got me jazzed up to see it again.

I have a growing pile suddenly between sales and new discs coming out, but I'll be watching this one tomorrow night as soon as I get it. Really one of my "forgotten" favorites.

I remember when I bought this on VHS. I took it home, popped it in the VCR, and the tape was blank. Talk about a conspiracy!

How could you forget him and the nose scene? LOL

This movie is truly a gem. I can't wait to watch it when it arrives in a couple days.

Glad to see such high A/V marks. I've watched the HDX version that's been available through Vudu for a little while, and the screenshots look like a nice improvement from that. Looking forward to picking it up.

Warner is one weird studio-

They did the same with The Last Boy Scout-

Universal could learn a few things.

In the beginning the were one of the worse. Bad transfers and lossy audio on everything. Then they started using lossless and were one of the small few who remasterd all their classic films. They're still not perfect though. Some new blurays could have been better. Like Gravity. They hardly use most of the available BD space and their bitrates are always low.

Well, Gravity still got a 5/5, didn't it? I haven't seen the film or the BD, do you still think the PQ is good - great ...?

Paid a little more than Amazon, but Best Buy got it to me on release day. Also Amazon is now charging tax in my state... Woohoo!. Just finished watching it, excellent PQ. Haven't watched this in forever, it's one of those flicks I watched a billion times when I first started collecting DVDs and then finally put it aside. Forgot about the nose scene and what followed. Glad to have it back in my collection. Mel at his craziest, gotta love it. A few extra's would have been nice though ...

Then I'll give my parents the DVD copy. They love the film too.
I bought this from Circuit City as well back during the early days of the DVD format. Snapper case of course, the disc offering widescreen on one side and full frame on the other which was commonly done by Warner back in the day. Just received my copy of the Blu yesterday. Can't wait to watch this tonight.

Also, for those interested I scanned the cover art and worked up front and back covers for use with DVD Profiler and My Movies. The full cover scan can be downloaded by clicking on the preview image above. Enjoy!

Default Great transfer

This transfer is good. Watched it last night.
Christ, Gibson, Roberts, and Stewart give awesome performances.
Why doesn't it seem like they make movies like this anymore? Am I just getting too old LOL Is it because movies are not shot on film anymore?

I forgot how great this movie is. What a sweet pleasure watching it last night.

I wish there were extras though! A commentary would have been awesome.

I'd sort of like to own I Love Trouble, too. I know Nolte and Roberts hated each other on that film set but I always liked the film anyway.
I love the Julia Roberts 90's thrillers like Sleeping With the Enemy, Pelican Brief, Conspiracy Theory and would also love to add I Love Trouble to that BD list. Still have my crappy non-anamorphic DVD of that.

I agree. For some reason I enjoyed her work more then than I do her work after the 90s.
