I hope whenever this gets to blu (and it will) that it is handled well.
You're right - the whole film has a very unsettling tone about it that is scary the entire time.

The limited German blu I have is not the best transfer (it is a little better than the dvd but I would like it to really be given the full treatment it deserves). It does have an introduction by the director Michael Winner as well as a commentary track from him, so that alone made it worth a buy. This is one definitely one of my all time favorite horror films!

I'm not big on "scary movies", but it makes me want to watch this movie after seeing this video.
Yes.

I know not many will agree, but this from Trainspotting has always unsettled me.

I was 14 or so when I saw that in the theater. I NEVER want to see a ball bouncing the stairs at me for any reason whatsoever. If it happened now and it was also dripping wet, I might lose it.

I'd love to hear that track. I looked into the release you mention and I noticed another version releasing on May 16: The-Sentinel-Blu-ray/103361/

Probably the same thing, different cover.

EDIT - Yikes! $25 for a used paperback. Sheesh.
Not sure if this would apply to you or help, but where I live in Michigan there's something called MelCAT. It's basically all the libraries, including most university libraries, connected in one huge catalog. You can go to your library and order whatever you're looking for through the system. If any library in the state has it, you'll have access to it. Sometimes it can take up to a month to get it, but you will get it.

Again, don't know if where you live has a system like that, but could be worth looking into if you don't want to spend $25 on a used paperback.

"Poltergeist" was definitely scary as a kid. I haven't seen it in ages, and doubt I would be scared by it now. But yeah it was definitely fun in that, "I loved to be scared" way as a kid.

The Descent:

The scene where
[Show spoiler]the group finally admits they're lost, they turn on the camera and we see one the crawlers behind them.
Creepy stuff.

The Changeling is one of my all-time favorites!!! I second your wish list, please restore it for blu ASAP! Almost every ghost story movie since has copied something from it!

[Show spoiler]When I was 4 my mom told me to not go into their room cause my grandpa was in there watching a scary movie...ofcourse I had to go in, and ofcourse it was the bathtub reflection scene.

I'd say the entire seance scene is absolutely classic. The clairvoyant was legit cause she was immediately drawn to the attic door

Yes it is the same release with an alternate cover! I actually like this new "B" cover better.....

I would also love to see The Changeling restored and released on blu...one the 80's best horror films.

I know that I said earlier that I wasn't much into horror/scary movies, but after reading everyone's posts here, I'm kind of intrigued to see some of them.

So many things in Session 9 fit the bill, especially any scene with those creepy recordings playing. It's one of very few movies I've had to stop and resume the next day because I was so creeped out.

The dog suit scene in The Shining gets me every time. I assume that's what a few of you posted behind spoiler tags, but I wasn't man enough to click. What an image.

Another scene that scares the hell out of me is in Paperhouse where Ben Cross attacks his daughter Anna. It's deeply unsettling.
