I just tried. I failed.

So if you had designs (like me) on taking in some of those free discs you got from the Summer Blu-ray promo you're SOL. Seems Wal-Mart has been innundated lately with new, unopened BD's and they (corperate?) were informed that people were returning items not purchased there for other product - at least this is what the lady I spoke with told me.

Shitty news I know but it was bound to happen sooner of later. At least they let me leave the store after I set off the Sensomatic at the front doors; guess BVHV doesn't de-magnetize the BD's as they leave the warehouse.

Anyways, just thought I'd share the info I gleaned this afternoon.
I think this is the first time I ever say this but good for them. Personally I see that as a scam.

Yes, and you were explaining on a Public Forum that you were trying to cheat a company....and I don't know how something like that wouldn't be against some law. But maybe thats just me...because I am from New York, and looking at the wrong blade of grass is against the law. Moral of my story....have a little class and save things that you do that may be against the law to yourself Happy Holidays

I am saddened that more than one person is upset about this. Like others....I thought it was just the Reds that did stuff like this. Come on....isn't the blu-ray crowd supposed to have some class?

A lot of FYE's will opt to give you full credit on trade for sealed merchandise. This is what I typically do. I tell them I have sealed movies I want to trade and they give me full credit. It depends on the manager but I've done it more than once. So if anyone is looking for an ethical alternative, try FYE!

I'm glad to see that many share my disgust at these dishonest practices.

I'm sad that people continue to lump people together and assume they are all alike. The comments in general about "red" are what make people here seem like babies and act as bad as the people they are referring to. There are classy people in both groups the same as there are some that act like kids in both groups.
This thread is sad no matter which side it is placed on red or blue.
This site is becoming more about fighting "red" than about blu-ray.

It's people who abuse the system with fraud that made them change their policy. They are not the only ones either. Costco has always been having problems with people buying big screen sets and returning them after the Super Bowl. That's why they changed their policy on electronics too. It's the honest consumer who gets screwed by all the scammers. The pisser is that most of the scammers think that's it's their right to abuse the system because of the profits the stores make of off their purchases. It's a sad world indeed when people do not know right from wrong.

I am truly amazed by all the self-righteous, Nancy Grace douchebags I see chiming in, crying foul because I posted a bit of information regarding a very common practice I've been following on this forum - for months.

Jesus folks, find another cause already.

And all this "red is scum" and "blu is class" bullshit... it's pathetic. How the hell is one persons level of "class" determined by their format of choice? They're f**king movies for christ sake! That's it. That's all they will ever be! Movies.

All this posteuring is embarrassing.

And thank you, happy holidays to you as well.

They have a database out there run by a private company (i forgot its name). They have names of people who abuse returns policies. I think Best Buy has list of names that are chronic returners/exchangers. It was wrong but no one really is losing any money. They'll just sell it again.

Don't get upset at a customer who is trying to get a few movies for free. Spend your energy being upset at all these executives of these big companies crying all year that they are losing money so they lay off the average worker but give themselves a record bonus this Holiday season.

EU fines Sony, Fuji, Maxell 74.8 mln eur over videotape cartel activity
http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/...3-21119943.htm

So what your saying is just because corporations screw people I should bring myself down to there level and commit fraud against the corporations? Should I go out and steal from them and use "they treated walmart employee's unfairly" defence? Just cause one criminal jumps off the bridge, maybe the rest should follow? After all isnt thievery a common practice performed by the majority of prison mates? So it must be ok.

Here is an idea. If you don't like your job, go find a better one and move on. After all jobs are not hard to find in Edmonton, Alberta with the Oil Boom going on, instead of living your life trying to figure ways to defraud the system.

or when you create a user name called "bluebloodz" and come on a forum and after a handful of posts, start member bashing. I'd bet you've been banned here before under a differen't name. And most likely soon with this one.
