Don't see THE ROUND-UP (1966) on the wish list - the first foreign-language B/W 'scope film I saw in a cinema.

Just watched Our Man in Havana on Amazon video. What a fantastic film. I can't for the life of me think why it took me this long to get around to watching. Especially as I am a fan of Reed, his other two Greene adaptations, and also of Alec Guinness.

The picture was very sharp, even streamed on my 11.6" Chromebook screen. And the cinematography looked excellent. I'll be ordering the R2 DVD without delay to enjoy the CinemaScope presentation on my 40" television. If ever there was film crying out for a BD, this is it. It would make a perfect Criterion release.

Released in the UK and Japan this coming August. I only know it by reputation, and have not seen the existing Criterion DVD:

It's included as an upconverted extra on Arrow's UK BD of Black Sunday

Has there been any news about a blu-ray release of "Hud"? Probably my most wanted title not available yet.

Funny, when the DVD came out it was a revelation having previously only seen it on TV in pan and scan. Now I'm so spoiled by excellent blu-ray transfers that I find the old DVD nearly unwatchable!

Sorry, not read anything. I don't know if Paramount would release it direct, or license to another distributor. There are folk on the forums who have this kind of info down (which company has rights to what, etc.), so maybe ask around.

It's one of my most wanted titles on blu-ray, but you really only need to know one word to know why it hasn't been released: Paramount. The company still hasn't figured out that they're sitting on an untapped revenue stream via blu-rays of their classics. Roman Holiday isn't even on blu-ray yet, which is ridiculous.

The film debut of the fantastic Terence Stamp.
