Touche, I haven't seen any review of the Blu anyway so I'll be patient.

There's either a DVD or BD membership that you sign up for initially....
it's very YMMV when dealing with DMC. It should be no problem to sign up for a DVD membership and then request BD's but that probably wouldn't fly [as sometimes the opposite can cause confusion when it's actually saving them money and yet still denied ]
I was a member before blu-ray came along. When the DMC started to sell blu-rays I received a card asking if I wanted to change my preferred format and I got a free blu-ray out of it. When I signed up for my second account,.. I did it by mail and the form I filled out asked which format I preferred. Even though the monthly packets are not exactly the same for the DVD and the blu-ray cub, the item numbers are listed for both formats.

I've been a member since 2007 and have used the club to save a TON of money on 3D titles. Most of the time, if you get the Featured Title plus whatever other title they are trying to push with it, all other items end up being 50%+ off. Outside of 3D Featured Titles, the most I've ever paid for one is about $12. I once placed an order that included all 3 Toy Story's, Bolt, Chicken Little, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and The Nightmare Before Christmas. With the deal that month, each one was $10.

The only downside is that Disney has scaled back their 3D releases, but the current Featured Title is Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it's the 3D combo pack. You can add on Toy Story of Terror to make the rest of your order 50% off.

Why? The blu-ray will most likely look better than your DVD.

Here is a better quality image of the cover from the website that has been updated with the pre-order:

If you pre-order with other titles you can get it for $14.97 with the buy one get 40% off deal.

There's no $40 off deal happening in the [US] DMC currently ....

[Show spoiler]never gonna happen......
Hmm, it's a shame if this climate we live in today prevents classic movies from being released to the home market. If Birth of a Nation could make it, I don't see why Song of the South can't, it's nowhere near as "politically incorrect". I guess that would be a Disney stance.

This is not available as an enrollment title is it? If not, does it count towards a commitment?

Enrollment: Like anything else, I imagine its status as an enrollment title will be YMMV depending on who you get on the phone until it shows up on the website (likely 90 days after the release date but maybe they'll put these up immediately?) as enrollment eligible.

Commitment: Not toward a Blu-ray membership, as the MSRP for this and Computer/Tennis Shoes is $24.95 and Blu-ray commitments need to have an MSRP of $29.95 or higher.

I haven't seen it stated, so apologies if I'm repeating, but The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes is also being released on blu as an exclusive at the same time. The most recent ad says both have been "restored", but no further details.

I'd love for Disney to start releasing some more of these live action films. One that I always liked, when I was a kid, was The Gnome Mobile.

That artwork makes Tim Conway look like Jeremy Piven!

I really wish they'd release this with the sequel in a double-feature pack.

I received a shipping alert for this and CWTS. It will probably deliver on the 9th still, even though it has shipped.

Pre-order link??
It's already available on the DMC site I believe....but you have to be a member to login and order it via there.
There's a whole DMC dedicated thread; it's basically the best and most cost effective way to obtain new Disney/Marvel, etc. titles. Some on this site don't understand how it works or hear membership and freak out, but if you have enough of a library you want to build of those titles (at least 7-10) then it's a no brainier.

I've been reading the DMC thread but I still need to figure out a few things before I make a decision, although I'm pretty sure I'll become a member, I have to be sure it'll be the right decision.

Do they charge your card when you pre-order it or once they ship it?

PS. Thanks for all your help, it has helped me a lot.
