$50 pre-order price is tempting, especially since I don't think I have much of anything to buy in November. But I'll wait and see if it goes any lower. Been spending too much anyway.

I can't wait to watch this. Pre-ordered yesterday with Amazon.

Apu and Kieslowski's Three Colors Trilogy have received almost life-changing reviews from posters on the forum. I hope they live up to the hype.

I'm blind-buying the set and I am extremely excited to watch them all. I'll have to try and set aside three consecutive nights to watch them.

I've only seen Ray's Charulata, but I adored it (I may just add it to my collection in either the Criterion flash sale or the November B&N sale).

^Not yet. Since, as I understand, this is an in-house restoration for Criterion, any other studio would have to be ready to shell out a bomb to use it.

Fingers crossed for something next year from the restored masters! Considering pre-ordering from Amazon.com as I have a region-free blu-ray player and will be able to play these...

You are correct, those people are very odd indeed.

The old Columbia Region-1 DVD and the Artificial Eye Region-2 DVD went OOP pretty shortly after they were released. I wonder if the Criterion set will suffer the same fate. As we know, some Criterion titles just can't stay in print for long, such as The Third Man, Last Year at Marienbad, and others.

Does anyone know how the discs are housed in this set?

I'm wondering if there are three separate plastic cases in a slip box or if the discs are stored in sleeves or something along those lines.

I've looked around but can't find any interior pictures or unboxing videos yet.

I think the packaging will be similar to 3 Films by Roberto Rossellini.

That would be my guess, too.

Three digipacks inside of a relatively flimsy outer case. Got my review copy on Thursday

Wow, these reviews are so exciting. I haven't seen these movies in many years. Crappy DVD (or maybe even VHS!) copies at that. Will be thrilling to revisit these in such pristine condition.
