I'm glad that I took a leap of faith yesterday by pre-ordering this title.

Indeed, though I believe this title was always advertised as being from a new Cohen restoration. It will be interesting to see the PQ/AQ of the subsequent titles that have not been dubbed as coming from new restorations.

Pre-ordered Another Man's Poison yesterday. The review today confirms that was a good decision.....this should be a great release. I am really hopeful that ClassicFlix is a success and I will be supporting them.

Their upcoming releases have some top-flight film noir too, so I wish Classicflix the best. But I gotta warn you people that for many years Classicflix has been known for its LOUSY disc rental service, where extreme shipment delays and disc perpetually going out of stock are the norm, as my 2-year, first-hand experience with them can attest. Broken discs during transit, erroneous credit card charge, billing you for lost discs even after you reported it lost months before, truly eff up galore. This company tries to be Netflix and fails miserably. They even tried to add streaming like Netflix, which didn't happen, of course. If you complain, they send you canned letters that don't solve the problem, or simply ignore you. You can easily google for negative comments about their rental service. If you are at the East Coast, you will be screwed even more, since they only have one distribution center in the West Coast. Those who remember Netflix's early days, which were also fraught with problems, would know what it is like. So my point is: let us just hope the people in their Blu-ray/DVD division are NOT the same incompetent ones in rental.

I've thought about grabbing Another Man's Poison a few times but the barebones release has me waiting to see if this pops up in region B with at least something added. We'll see how long I can last. The Killer Is Loose looks like it'll have me playing the same games.

Just ordered Another Man's Poison shipped by Amazon Sold by ClassicFlix. (So no taxes!) Should arrive Saturday. I almost forgot it was already released.

Watched Another Mans Poison and as the review on this site states the transfer is great on this release. I didn't expect it to look this good. The movie is even better than I expected. Great acting, B/W photography and a nice score from John Greenwood.

Purchase this title its very worthwhile and a quality product can't wait to get more titles from ClassixFlix if they are up to these standards with audio and video.

Fritz Lang's tragic masterpiece YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE (1937) starring Henry Fonda and Sylvia Sidney is coming to Blu-ray and DVD this July 11th from ClassicFlix.

The newly remastered and restored film will retail for $29.99 (Blu) and $24.99 (DVD) respectively. The mono soundtrack has also been restored and will be uncompressed on the Blu-ray release. Bonus features include:

• Feature length audio commentary by author and film historian Jeremy Arnold (author of TCM’s The Essentials: 52 Must-See Movies and Why They Matter)

• Before and after restoration comparison

English subtitles are also included.

I want to pre-order The Killer is Loose, but it's not up on Amazon yet. I'll keep checking.

I've got the region free Spanish Blu-ray of You Only Live Once, but I might double-dip if the presentation is improved. (The Spanish disc already looks good.)

Amazon had the preorder listed for Killer is Loose last few weeks but a few days back it is listed as currently unavailable. I still have my pre-order pending hower I was expecting a price drop before release day.... but at this point curious if it is delayed ... almost thinking I should cancel my order for now.

I noticed the same thing on my Amazon order a few minutes ago. I hate having to cancel orders and re-order the item from elsewhere, so I hope that this is not the case.

I canceled my Amazon order of The Killer is Loose, since the item is now listed as unavailable, and I placed an order from Deep Discount instead. The Blu-ray is a little cheaper on Deep Discount anyway, so that'll work.

Amazon has been playing a lot of games lately that I don't like.

I canceled my Killer is Loose Amazon order also... but now the BLU is listed sold by ClassicFlix shipped prime thru amazon. at 22.99. Which now that I remember that is how I bought Another Man's Poison. I will have to remember this for future ClassicFlix Blus.

I'll probably pick up a copy the next time I'm at a Bullmoose (I picked up Another Man's Poison there the other week).
