Exclamation Twister interesting fun fact

Ok I can't take credit for this, read on another site.

But did you know that Twister was the first move on DVD(source IMDB), and will be the last HD DVD Warner release?

I thought that was pretty neat.

depending on how things go it could very well be the very last movie on hd dvd period.

that would be ironic.

Kinda cool. First movie on DVD? Interesting. It's one of my favorite movies too. Can't wait to get this one.

You reminded me of a scene that made me laugh, despite the subject, in one of the many videos about tornadoes-- a woman was watching a twister bearing down on her house and just said matter-of-factly, "I hate Oklahoma."

What would really be funny if it was a combo disc.

Wow, didn't realize Twister was the first one. It doesn't seem like it was all that long ago...sigh, guess I'm just getting old.

Always thought Jumanji was the first DVD way back in 1997.

I hope they do the audio on this right. When I was waiting for my first DVD player, I picked up two DVDs so I would have them ready the day my player arrived. Given how early this was in the intro of DVD, I looked through what was available and picked Twister to test out the audio and Tenchi: the Movie because I wanted a good anime title to start out with. So, in the coming months I will be able to replace my first DVD, and also my first LD when Independence Day comes out.

Just saw that... get the PCM 5.1 I guess. Hopefully it's a rocker.

I thought it was either Blazing Saddles, Blade Runner and/or Batman (1989), all of which I bought way back when, and 2 of which I now have again on Blu.

What a long, strange road this has been, eh?

Actually the first DVD's released were Imax: Antartica; Imax: The Serengetti and Imax: Tropical Rainforest from Lumivision/DVD Internationl, a week before the first wave of Warner titles were released regionally on March 24, 2007.

Let's just hope that Twister in HD looks better than the original DVD.

Yep, Twister and Jumanji didn't show up on DVD until April/May of 1997. I know at least three of the original large studio DVD releases were The Glimmer Man, Space Jam and a Time To Kill on 3/24/1997, since I was waiting at THe Wiz to buy them that day. They were on a spinner rack LOL.
