Awww . . . I am disappointed. I always got a huge kick out of you being called a blu fanboy when you didn't even own a player.
even funnier, when you add he only owned an HD DVD player.

It's the end of an era. At least for Grubert. Enjoy and get your Bluetooth remote!

Just a quick update -

I have just completed the upgrading of my gear with the purchase of a new AV receiver. Missing out on lossless audio was too much to bear. And I was so happy with the Yamaha RX-V2500 I'd had for three years that I stayed loyal to the brand (a rarity in me). So now I'm the happy owner of an RX-V1800, and it works perfectly with the PS3 (and the Pioneer 868 player, and -ahem- the HD-A1).

In the meantime, I've been actively reselling my HD DVD movies. My collection has gone from 20 to 3 in a month. Hopefully I'll be renting American Gangster and a couple others - and by the summer the A1 will be going in the basement.

I waited a long time also, mostly because I didn't want to buy into the wrong format, and have to re-buy. (plus I don't play video games, so the obvious leap to the PS3 wasn't as apparent to me)

As a recent owner, I'm VERY happy with my purchase, and I'm sure you will be too. I also have an A-35 that I purchased after my blu-ray, because once I started, I quickly realized I wanted to see titles that were only on HD DVD, in high-Def, but Blu Ray audio is a LOT better, which was the biggest selling point for me also.
