Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought the PS3 for two reasons -- Blu-Ray and Japanese games. Every PS3 owner I know bought the console for the same two reasons. I have nothing against the games, but my personal preferences don't lie with games like Halo, Gears, and Bioshock. I am a hardcore Metal Gear, FF, and Gran Turismo fan. As far as gaming, the PS1, PS2, and the PS3 won me over just for those games alone.

I won't comment on the 360's fail rate, because my first PS3 died on me. However, I do know five 360 owners and 4 of them have had multiple RRoD's. All I can say is that I am greatly satisfied with my PS3, the games available, the Blu-Raying, not to mention the upcoming titles have me pure giddy. I personally believe the PS3 has the momentum going into 2008. PS Home is also going to be a great inclusion and should definitely spark more interest in the console. I know I'm excited for it. Blu-Ray's victory should do some positive things, also.

All you can talk about "FAILURE RATE" I already admited to the fact that the 360 was at fault there... I really wish they would have taken their time to perfect the time to fix the bugs but the main reason is due to over heating... I also love the fact that my PS3 does not sound like a Jet Plane taking off when I load in a game or movie... All I am opinionating in this thread is that the 360 is leading in the CONSOLE WAR.

The PS3 is great for it's muli-meadia purposes but wat most of you need to understand is that it IS A GAME CONSOLE! Look at the catogory it is in... it is a catagory with the WII and XBOX 360 -> Which are both GAME CONSOLES! Like me I am a GAMER to me the PS3 is in LAST copared to the other two due to sales and lack of games. And as for A+ titles... Like COD4 (also on the 360), Assassins Creed (also on the 360), OR are you talking about games Like Lair which was suppose to be amazing but ended up being a major disapointment with it's annoy controls and 7 hrs of gameplay OR Uncharted that had 8hrs of game play. These two games are great examples to why this thread was started.

It's a CONSOLE WAR, the majority of the people to not see the PS3 as am amazing console with an awsome blu-ray addition... it's no real value to people that are just looking to game. Look how successful the Wii is... I cannot even play dvds and it has poor graphics... Yet it is the highest rated and is the BEST SELLING! So please tel how this is supposed to be a muli-media war??? MC and their 360 has been more dedicated to GAMERS more than ever. I am not saying that the PS3 sucks I just mentioned the more people see it as a Blu-Ray player with an Game playing ability. That's the Value! If you look at it the other way around, that's why the PS3 in behind in the CONSOLE WAR because that is what it came out to compete in.

Yet again I do have to state myself in the fact that I DO KNOW THERE IS A GREAT '08 LINE UP for the PS3. ALSO I AM A PS3 FAN but a BIGGER 360 FAN and why? Because It has been a better GAME CONSOLE to me.

Not really impressive, some games have sequels being plan from the start. All of these were planned as a trilogy from the start; Resistance: Fall of Man, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, etc...

Xbox 360 has been making some headway in JRPG's, it's alot better than original Xbox in this area.

I'm not saying that all of these are (or are going to be) good, but the Xbox 360 does have some JRPGs.

I would have said it myself but I didn"t want to waste my time having most reply's stating that those suck. But as for when people mention the fact of what kind of games into put them what GAME CONSOLE they should play. JRPG's are great! Grandia II, FF Series, Dragon Quest, ect... All amazing!

Like I said though The 360 is NOT a piece of shit. It's should based on prefference of games whither it shooters, rpgs, mmo's, reat tiem strats, and ect. You need to remember even though the 360 and Ps3 are enemys... They were both created to Mainly outdo the PC. It's all based on support.

I don't know about you guys, but here is my reason why I choose PS3 over 360.

I consider myself a gamer, but I don't buy many games. I buy maybe 2 or 3 games a year. So buying a console, I don't want it to play just games. The PS3 offers me more than games. It also gives me DVD and of course Blu-ray. The 360 however, only had DVD playback, nothing new. I allready owned a PS2 that gave me DVD playback.

Yes, you can say the 360 got the HD-DVD add-on, but I was convinced from the start that Blu-ray was going to win this war, the thought of purchasing an HD-DVD player never once crossed my mind.

I agree that the 360 console has had awesome games released, jsut not the types of games that I like. Yes, even Gears of War failed to impress me. I like TPS games, but the style of GeOW just isn't my cup of tea. If GeOW came to the PS3, I dont think I would've purchased this game. The only game I wanna play on the 360 console is Ninja Gaiden 2.

It won't be the first time that I would buy a console to play just one game (did that for MGS:Twin Sankes for Gamecube), but Ninja Gaiden 2 as much as an awesome game it may be, I don't feel it's worth the money to buy a 360.

When I decide to buy an expensive console, I buy it because I am convinced the console will have a great future, with awesome games. The 360 just doesn't convince me in this department. Except for Ninja Gaiden franchise, it has nothing to offer me.

I didn't believe in the Gamecube's future either (I was right about that as it turns out) when I bought it I got it for cheap from a classmate, but even if I couldn't have found a cheap Gamecube, I just would've bought a new one, because MGS deserves my money. But at the end, MGS:Twin Snakes dissapointed, so decided to sell the game and the Gamecube. My initial plan was to keep both until the console broke down or something.

The PS3 on the other hand, I know, you except me to say, Final Fantasy, Killzone etc. but no. these games also do nothing for me, although Killzone 2 has awesome graphics. Matterfact, I hate RPG's and FPS's (although I never gave RPG's a fair choice though). Believe it or not, but I never played a God of War game, I will probably pick up God of War 3 though, once it releases. Same goes for Shadow of the Colossus never played it, but will more than likely pick up the new ICO game.

Even if all this fails, I will always have Blu-ray playback. Plus, I know MGS4 won't dissapoint, this alone makes the PS3 a worthy purchase for me.

The biggest reason why I think the PS3 has a bright future is: Sony has a great track record of showing a steady stream of innovitive and quality games. I am sorry to say this but, I am missing this feeling when it comes to the 360. Plus not to mention that most 360 exclusive's become available on the PC.

Same goes for the Wii btw, I can trust them to release Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc., but if you don't like these games (like me), then this console has very little to offer.

Well to be fair Halo 3 and Gears of War campaign length are short too 8 to 12hrs each. Every console has games that have 7 to 8hours of game play.

Reliability plays a big part in how consoles are judged. And with ridiculous failure rates.... the CONSOLE itself... is overpriced, and unreliable..

At this moment, the 360 may play more games that YOU like... when its working. But to other people, a console is more than just exclusive FPS games. I havent really kept up... what are the highly anticipated NON-FPS XBOX 360 exclusive games for this year.

Wrong. They were created for numbers of reasons, but I don't think either company's end goal is to outdo the PC.

I still have my Nov 26 release date 360 and it works perfect! It's due to people having sit on carpet sucking in dust, putting it in spaces where it can't breath, moving while it's moving. That's why there's a HIGHER failure rate then what their should. Half the people who buy a 360 a half retarded when it comes to buying a console. People who buy a PS3 know the value and take great care of it. Sit it on a stand with room to breath, or place it in an area where it is safe. I have seen too many situations to where I started asking people "Where do you have your 360 sit?" and most people will state that they have it sit on the ground... where all the dirt and dust and what ever other shit is there... The 360 cycles a alot of air in and out of it attrating things like dust.

Quick thing real fast... For those who owned a PS2 know about failure rate... I went through 2 of them until I game up and waited for a PS3. I know of so many situations while I was working in a game section and more people were coming to buy a New PS2 because the old one broke then people that were buying one for the first time... the ratio had to be 5:1. The Sony consoles usually take a year or two till they start breaking down... SO until then there should be no such talk of failure rate because it could come around to bite you in your ass.

The only thing is that the 360 is an amazing gaming console you all should admit that because until the PS3 pushes out better games it's will only be a good blue-ray player considering that's all people use it for, for now that is.
