I would guess they finally started to see sales drop as people avoided their editions. If Mondo noticed lost sales on a BD title due to a Le Chat 4K, I am guessing sales for Elephant Man and some others weren’t what they were expecting. Either that or Kino snagging some UHD rights to films like Silence was a wake up call. Did Mill Creek beat them to UHD?

In for all six, though I hope they're going to be releasing some/all in the UK.
I imagine he has very selective memory.

Great start for jumping into 4K. Hopefully we will see some previous Criterion blu-rays redone in 4K UHD. I'd love to see War of the Worlds in 4K along with many other previous Criterion releases.

Not interested in the films (already have Hard Day's Night on blu), but I'm glad to see Criterion joining the party.

Better late than never, but a pretty solid introductory 4K slate from Criterion. Definitely in for Citizen Kane, The Piano, Mulholland Drive.

Blu-ray from Lionsgate looks amazing and its DP Darius Khondji thinks the HDR grade looks like sh*t, so I respect his opinion

Select films will be presented in Dolby Vision HDR
So some will be SDR only?

I'm guessing they'll still be HDR but wanted to use the Dolby name a lot in the announcement to get us excited. At least I'm hoping.

I read that as some titles will HDR10 only while select titles will have Dolby Vision as well.

Excellent. Hoping they release some of the WKW box as separate 4K titles in the future. Would love Chungking Express.

What Mondo title was that? I don't follow the main BD forum much, did Mondo say that they'd lost sales? Interesting.

Now seriously, this is great news. Waiting for technical data and disc quality impressions.
