It is going to take a lot of good faith for me to purchase this after what Paramount did with the BD. I'm certain they did that just for the ugly fun of making fans of the film suffer.

This is low key one of my favorite films. I had the poster framed and hung in my living room when I was single and allowed to do such things.

For me it’s

1) Ed Wood

3) Batman/Batman Returns (I always watch them as one)
4) Beetlejuice
5) Sleepy Hollow

Can’t wait to get this on 4K. Just watched this for last spooky season and the old Blu-ray definitely could use an upgrade.

Scenes set during the day looked far more vibrant while maintaining the greyish muted look. It's pretty sad that so many of these films which utilized silver retention haven't really captured that look at all on home video.
I seem to recall in one of the other Sleepy Hollow threads images of the new transfer were posted.

This is probably my favorite Tim Burton film. I remember going to see it in the movie theater when it first came out and also buying the DVD when I was in grad school. I passed on the blu-ray because of the ancient codec it used. Hopefully, Paramount doesn't screw up this new 4K UHD.

Default Burton and Depp are money together

And Christina Ricci was awesome in this too…..I hope they do right and capture the atmosphere perfectly with the UHD…

Sadly, that means nothing regarding how the compression on the 4K disc will be. The master/restoration might be great, but they can still stumble when compressing it.

Based on the caps from the link on previous page, the compression isn’t great on the stream.

Haven't watched this since the theater, and can't remember a lot but should look good on 4K with dark scenes and that. Personally I'd rather have Pee-Wee Big Adventure on 4K. What can you do...

If the color gets handled as well as big fish I'll be real happy.

The compression (even though not great) is actually better on the older BD. It's funny as I was recently debating with someone over at AVS who claims streaming compression as is good as disc. Never the case when done properly.

Woohoo! Been craving this ever since I got my 4k player! Really hope the disc turns out great because this is one of the best looking movies ever. Now to decide if I want to watch it before Halloween or before Thanksgiving... this has always been more of a November horror for me, what with the New England vibes and all. Hm hm hmmm...

Yeah I would have to agree. The film grain is better resolved on the Japanese blu compared to the stream, and it has less compression artifacts.

Same. I have so much stuff from this movie. The video release poster is still on my wall. I ended up buying the McFarlane action figures again a few years ago so I can have three on display and three in mint sealed condition, including the HH three piece set with his horse. There are around seven or so copies of it in my collection. My favorite items have to be my HH Hollywood Collectibles Group exclusive 1:4 statue and the hardback script art book.

There's quite a bit more, including multiple copies of the soundtrack on vinyl and the complete score from Intrada, a trading card set, a press kit, and even the official interactive companion CD ROM. I'm currently on the hunt for the Horseman's axe and sword from Factory X, even though I have no space to display them at the moment.

Of the Burton films left the ones I'd really like 4Ks of would be Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Mars Attacks!, and Sweeney Todd.
