PS3 Ugly?

call me crazy but I've got better things to do then be vein about the look of my components. I mean, its not like it looks like it cost 20 dollars to make.

I love the shape and style of the PS3 but I would much rather a "mat" black finish as opposed to the gloss. Gloss looks tacky IMO.

Ugly is one of those things that's hard to say nicely.


My PS3 fits perfectly in my gear rack mounted horizontally. No one has mentioned it being ugly but then I keep all the gear outside the theater in the next room and control it with IR repeaters anyway.

I like the all black model (20gig) the best. I think the chrome bar cheapens the look a bit.

Originally I thought all 3 consoles looked ugly. The 360 never really changed, it still looks ugly and the hour glass looks like something out of a slimfast commercial. But it is mostly the pasty white color that didn't work for me. The black elite is a bit better. The wii, eh again with the white. The PS3, didn't really like the rounded look but I must admit once I got it in my house I was quite impressed. I have it standing up now and think it fits right in with my rack. I hope that the next generation realizes that black never goes out of style so please release your console in that color. You can make limited special editions later, but black should always be the base.
