I've never heard anyone refer to the first Star Wars film as anything other than "Star Wars" unless there was a specific need to differentiate it from one of the other films or the franchise as a whole, and even then it's "the first Star Wars film" or "the original Star Wars" or something like that.

I suppose that they could leave it on the screen, but remove it from the box, especially as I’ve never heard it described as Pt.1. But I’d think in future releases, the two films will be paired-up, the pre-orders have a two film set.

…& yes, Star Wars. I don’t know when, A New Hope crept in.

I hear young people (30s and under) refer to it just as "A New Hope" pretty frequently.

I refuse to call it that, haha. It will forever be Star Wars to me, especially since I refuse to buy any version but the 4:3 DVD of the original theatrical version I have.

Most people just call it “Raiders” in my experience.

The first film was never really marketed as Part One though and they only added that in the film to tell people there was gonna be a second part (same with Wicked).

As for this film, I wouldn't go buy how people refer to it in conversation. Heck, I doubt anyone even uses the Dead Reckoning title all that much. I've certainly never heard anyone speak the entire title out loud, with or without the "Part 1" suffix. In my experience in conversation, people just say "the last Mission movie" or "Mission:Impossible 7" or "the one with the huge train crash," while others in the franchise are referred to as "the one on the Burj Khalifa" or something, I rarely hear people use the entire clunky titles for the movies in this franchise. I certainly rarely remember them.
I've always called it A New Hope(in my 30s btw).

Personally I think its better to remove the "Part One" from most marketing to differentiate the film from Final Reckoning and not necessarily confuse some audiences on whether it's suppose to be Part 2 before watching it.

I don't really think anyone calls each film "Indiana Jones and the -subtitle-" they just use normally use its subtitle. Plus I think recent releases go back to just labeling it as "Raiders of the Lost Ark" removing the "Indiana Jones and the" part of it.

Raiders/Doom/Holy Grail is how most people refer to the trilogy.

Hmm, I've never heard anyone use the last one.

In my experience, in conversation, it's generally:
Raiders
Temple of Doom
Last Crusade

Most unengaged non-movie-nerd people I know just say "Indiana Jones" to refer to any of them.

Yep, exactly, same with this franchise.

Heck, I'm a movie nerd, and I still don't remember which Mission movie was which, other than a few big setpieces, and I don't even necessarily remember the title of the one they were in.

Paramount+ has all of the previous MIs available to stream. I watched Dead Reckoning to get caught up.
