I just thought I would mention it. I think it's a great idea to support our troops that are putting their life on the line!

This is good to know... I'll start looking for movies that I'll more than likely never watch again. I take good care of my DVDs and most don't even have a light scratch on them.

Hey,

My FYE went out of business (I think it's only a matter of time for any FYE location actually.) Funny,.. I was in there once and the manager was talking with the district manager who was visiting the store and this district manager told me something like "If you have any DVD's you've copied already bring them in for store credit"... I got a chuckle out of that one.

Anyway,.. My Newbury is still good. Not sure if my gamestop will still accept them but I could go for trying to rack up credit for more PS3 accessories.

The donate to the troops sounds like something I would do but I don't know if there is anything like that here.

My family doesn't seem to want them,.. I guess I'm the only "movie" collector in my family for now.

I have a MovieStop nearby - that 4 for $19.99 sounds like a good deal. They actually have BD's for sale? I've never been in one.

I wont do business with FYE. They are possibly the bigest rip off ever, at least around where I live. Newbury Comics and BB average $10 a movie or more less then FYE. And their used stuff is a complete rip off too.

I've had good success selling them on Amazon.com marketplace as used DVD's.

Some are worthles (Superman returns), but I guess I average about $4-$5 per disc.

I sold a "lot of DVDs" on ebay in December. 140 movies, $340 plus shipping.

Right now I sell them one by one on Amazon as I watch them a last time to determine what's gonna happen to it (upgrade, keep, sell).
You don't get very much for most movies ($2.75 - $4.50 on average) but I get the money in Amazon gift certificates, so when I am ready to order something I am always happy to see at least a bit of a balance on the card

Hmm... A good and amusing point. If one were to send a bunch of titles overseas to our men and women in the Armed Services...

Not that I would ever consider such action AT ALL.

This thread motivated me to get all my DVD's together for Ebay.

Think I should include the 11 Superbit titles with the rest or list them together seperately from the standard dvds?

I'm certainly not listing my Saving Private Ryan DTS edition with the others.

Heh... Thanks to this thread, I'm putting the movies that I never watch/intend to watch again with the titles I intend to replace on Blu and prepping to find a good-sized box to send to our troops overseas.

I'm not replacing my Myrna Loy/William Powell movies, Star Trek Season Sets, Anime, or my comedy DVDs and they are therefore staying with me. The only other DVDs I'm saving are the super-special editions like the metal-case version of King Kong(1933), The Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition box set, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Special Edition (I love the postcards with the movie posters!). I'll hold onto those for various reasons, but will replace some if future Blu releases include those original extras.
