Default Dump all your dvds for Blu-ray?

Did a search and couldn't find any other threads so i figured i'd start one.
Im seriously considering just selling all of my dvds to make more room for blu ray and to get as much $$ for them as i can. (only keeping rare titles that may not ever be on blu). I looked at my collection and a lot of dvds i dont even watch. I just keep for general purposes. So do you guys keep your dvds until it comes out on blu or selling now?

please keep in mind that you will probably get at most $4 for your dvds these days maybe even less. with that in mind only get rid of the dvds that the blu-ray version outclasses the dvd version

I traded all of the DVDs I had which were either announced for Blu-Ray or most likely would be in the next year or so, aside from a select few I decided to keep around.

Best place I've found to trade them in was DVDPlanet.

i sold all the ones they took at FYE. they give a pretty good value, if you trade it for store credit they give you a store % added on the value of the DVD.. they only do 20 at a time, so i went a few times to get rid of them.. i don't care if their not on blu yet, because they will eventually all turn and i rather have the money now to spend on blu's

Sold most of my off in the past right as Blu-ray was being released. The only DVDs I have are older TV shows and cartoons. All films and new TV shows will be purchased on Blu-ray.

I also sell some of my DVD's to get them on Blu. But only big titles and a few outsiders. Replacing my whole collection of DVD's would prove expensive and I am not that wealthy.

Exactly. A lot of stuff would be foolish to get rid of.

There's a lot of Blu-Ray releases that are subpar at least in the Extras department.

I have been selling almost all of my dvds over the last 9 months on ebay. I usually sell them in lots of around 30 and get around $60-$90 for the lot. I am about to do a final sale, at which point I will almost be rid of almost all my dvds. I haven't sold tv shows for the most part however. I can't imagine I would spend the money to upgrade a whole series, so I have held onto those.

I have sold off about 1/2 of my DVDs we had over 1500, and are now I am estimating around 700. I first sold what I had on BD, then what I was sure I would never watch again, then anything that was announced on BD. The 1st 800 or so went fast now I am just selling them as they are announced on BD, and catalog titles are just trickling out. I have also given a few away.

i have over 600 dvd movie and tv. serie 120 already in blu, i'm not ready to give up on my entire collection yet. it may take a while for some of my dvd to make it to blu-ray so i will wait for them to be release in blu and make the switch then.

Sold most of mine at MovieStop so I can get Heroes and the Matrix on Blu. Not before I backed them up first

I'll be keeping my DVDs until they release a portable Blu-Ray player.

You just can't get anything for them these days.
I got rid of some good ones in 2005 and 2006 when I knew what was coming, but these days you've got to start your auctions at $0.99 to just get watchers, nevermind bidders. After Paypal and eBay's fees it hardly seems worth it.
