View Poll Results: Should the upcoming "Tiesto: Elements of Life" Blu-ray disc have a PCM track added?
Yes. It's a concert disc, and many can't hear DTS-HD MA lossless. 37 44.58%
No. There's already a lossless track on there, and it's not worth lowering the video bitrate. 36 43.37%
Huh??? Who's Tiesto? What's a Blu-ray disc? Why am I on this board? 10 12.05%

Thanks for all the feedback.
Is it DTS MA 24bit or 16bit? I'm glad they went with DTS MA. I can live with 1.5mbps for now. It'll be fun to revisit this title later.

You don't want to compromise on a title like this as any artifact or compression problems will stick out like a sore thumb.

Are we going to be able to play this title? I thought there was an issue that would keep it from working in US players.

Only if you direct import. And only if your player and HDTV/projector can't support 1080p25/50 output.

Wow, an old topic dug up. I was thinking about this title the other day. Although I'm not really a Tiesto fan, I definitely would get this on day one if it's planned for a US release. We need a trance BD fast!

No release planned for the U.S. See below...

It is supposed to be region coded for Region B. The video is 1080i50 so it wouldn't play in most other regions anyway, so they likely region-coded it to prevent people attempting to import the title.

If it does well enough in Europe we may get a U.S. release, though it will have to be completely reencoded and have a framerate conversion done (50i -> 24p) to allow our players and monitors to handle the video.

Default Tiesto on Blu

I know that there was an announcement about a month ago for a Tiesto concert on blu-ray. It was supposed to come out in March. I haven't heard much since. Does anyone else have any updates? I'm really looking forward to this one. Thanks in advance...

Default Tiesto on Blu-ray

As far as I can tell the disc will be released in March. The disc is encoded in AVC 1080i 50Hz because this was how the concert was recorded in Copenhagen.

It will have DTS-MA (lossless) audio. The audio source files were 24 bit 48kHz.

Hope you will enjoy it.

Cheers

Yes thanks for the update...one more quick question...has anyone seen any pre-orders up? I cannot find a single pre-order and that's the reason why i'm having doubts as to whether this thing will be released at all...

I have not seen any pre-orders up.....

Actually, play.com might have had it on blu-ray (Yes, they do). Check there. Else, I think it will roll out to more spots as the day grows closer.

Does that mean it won't be playable in the US?

Correct! It's a region B release only. It's also Region coded to keep you from trying to import it and having it not work.

That's also why you can't find any preorders for it in the U.S.
