A sequel to 300?

300 was the best movie IMO. A same type of movie with a different story would be great too!

i wouldn't mind it if they went a complete different direction with it. maybe follow leo's son growing to adulthood, trying to live up to his father's legacy but never finding the enemy as glorious as persia. he'd have a growing sense of emptiness just like beowulf had. not sure where it would go from there. but they could do it right. but it would be a completely different movie. if they had frank miller on board to help with the writing and artistic direction that is.

I sequal is called Spartans: The Fall of Xerxes. It supose to come out in 2010. But what I'm really waiting for is Sin City 2.

I highly doubt that there will be a sequel to 300. The Passion of the Chirst would get a sequel before 300

No, but really, there would only be a sequel if Frank Miller wrote a sequel first. Which won't happen, so look for The Watchmen (2009, I believe?), and Sin City 2 & 3.

Also, if you like the graphic novel-to-movie genre, look out for one called "Ascend". Really fantastic art, great storyline. I got a signed copy, and the writer/artist said they are in talks for a movie and possible video game.

I can't actually remember if it's called Spartans: The Fall of Xerxes. Or The Spartans: The Final Battle

It can't be called 300 because it's not about 300 spartans anymore.

Actually:

1. Frank Miller himself said he was working on a sequel of a sorts to 300, the graphic novel, so there's movie potential there, for sure. As it was said before in this thread, it will be about the following fight of 10000 spartans against whatever comes at them (Leonidas the Demi-God maybe) - this from the horses mouth. I read this in either Chud.com or aintitcoolnews.com, about a year ago.

2. Believe it or not, a PRE-quel to Gladiator has been on the planning stages for a few years now, I just don't know if Russel or Ridley are attached. Remember that Maximus was a farmer turned warrior turned great leader of romans in battles agains barbarians from the north (start of Gladiator) so there is story there (plus, the backstory of his relationship with the Emperor's daughter and possible child.)
