ditto ! and they better still have those squares around the tie fighters in space too.... just give the original untouched and i will be happy, then you can have your special "enhanced" versions...

they already totally restored the film stock for all the Indys and Star Wars when they released them on DVD... it should just be a matter of encoding it for HD now, right??

What about a year or two from now when there are far more potential customers? What should happen then?

Because, if Ge orges releases anything new in a few years, the same people complaining he isn't releasing now, will be complaining he is multi-dipping then.

then since it is already released the new people can buy it as soon as they get their blu-ray player.

It is possible to buy stuff after release date so I'm not sure why something already being released when new people buy players is a huge deal.

All I know is that I want extended/remastered cuts. Couldn't care less about theatrical releases.

Lucas is going to fall behind. Rather than waiting for more people to own Blu-Ray players, he should release Star Wars as soon as possible. If Lucas had gotten on board and released Star Wars on Blu, there wouldn't have been any HD format war. I believe personally that if he releases Star Wars on Blu now, it would encourage a lot more people to buy a Blu-Ray player now. He's thinking backwards and not realizing the pull that Star Wars has.

I hate this logic. "Well, we wait until more people buy BD players until we release such and such." Well, if they bring the movies to Blu, maybe people will buy BD players to watch them.

I want all 6 movies on Blu, and on the originals I want the choice of whether or not to watch the theatrical versions or the enhanced versions. Just as long as the theatrical versions are cleaned up. That being said, George Lucas will probably release the movies on Blu, right before Blu gets outdated by the next format, whatever that may be. So probably 2018 or later, if the world doesn't end in 2012

Definitely agreed. They would sell really well considering the current market size, then they would continue to sell well, as more and more people get into it. And Star Wars would definitely inspire many people to get into it.

If Crystal skull wasn't releasing in may then sure it might be 2 yrs but i can't
believe that we won't see indy this christmas as a blu 4-pack or single cs
release.

As to Star Wars whenever the new Clone wars stuff hits that's the year of the big push...you don't push cold properties you push when they're hot.

Just better sense so if all things are equal, replication numbers, consumer demand and scheduling Indy should see blu this year.

Actually, Laserdisc didn't die hard and fast. It was around for a very healthy period of time. And the Star Wars laserdiscs were some of the best selling LD's at the time. I have the $250.00 OT 'Definative Collection' boxset myself. As well as the $125.00 OT 'Special Edition' boxset. Still great sets.

I heard the next thing for Star Wars (films, not TV or animation projects) is going to be 3D versions. I am sure George will make major $ off of that and then 6-8 months later they will all come out on Blu.

Arrow George Lucas talks Blu-ray

As we all suspected Lucas will be holding off until greater marker penetration. In this months "Total Film" he was asked the following:

Will we see Indy and Star Wars series in hi-fef soon?

That'll probably happen. We're going to wait until Blu Ray gets a little more established, because it's only just won the war. It's got a year or two to get some actual fission going

Yeah, maybe 2009. But I'm sure we will get Indy 4 on blu-ray in November.

BTW, this has been discussed here:
