lol thats what made it so great and it actually had amazing depth in the picture our PRO150FD crushed it i'd say this is one movie that indicates the true power of blu-ray putting a dark movie like this to the test.

Thats what made it so great seeing people you dont care about or whos acting is dirt crap get mutilated , you've gotta face it neither of these two franchises are known for outstanding oscar acting

Haha I did the same thing too. Watched both and honestly I don't understand why they are cutting Predator down. Loved the movie and it looked great on my screen. AVP:R looked really dark as everything just looked black. Loved the movie though.

I really didnt like the movie, what was the whole gimmick at the end with the Yutani chick, I expected a lot better, The PQ was good, but not mind blowing, but i was disappointed overall with the movie. The plot could have been a whole lot better. I watched the Unrated version so maybe thats why. I didnt not watch the theatrical. I really like AVP 1, and I thought This one was going to be great, but i was kind of let down, hopefully part 3 will be better

AVPR comes out in aus next week. Just in time for my B-day. I enjoyed this movie in theatres. I thought it was way better than the first movie. That was really cheesy crap.

So, how different is the unrated version from the theatrical cut?

its not the best movie around, but if you like mindless violence and chaos like I do, its worth a watch for sure.....PQ is pretty solid, but I really enjoyed the DTS-HD MA..this was the first title i watched after updating my PS3....my house was shaking a bunch of different times....bad acting aside, it has some pretty cool scenes in it

Well, if you watched any other Alien movies you would know that the Weyland-Yutani Corp is the group that started the colony on that planet with a full Xenomorph infestation. Basically, if you remember the Cyborg, Bishop, he was a copy of the man Charles "Bishop" WEYLAND..... It basically ties this movie into the Alien series which takes place I think 200 years later than AVP:R.

As for the movie, I really loved it.... What we really need is a new Predator centric movie, or a AVP that doesn't really involve humans, but maybe the Predator race going to the Xenomorph "home" and trying to once and for all eliminate them....

The extra gore and "chest burster" come out of the father and son made this movie and set the tone.

None of those human characters became an
[Show spoiler]"honorary Predator"
so that instantly made it better than AVP.

When AVP "jumped the shark" at that point, the film was basically ruined for me.

Which is what happened in the comics. So I don't see what the big deal is.

I don't read comics, so it was an unpleasant surprise to me.

This was my first DTS HD MA movie on my PS3....great start!!!

Great pointless aliens killing people movie. I love how Hollywood is putting the "big badass superhero who can save the day" on the wayside finally.

Watching this movie made me realize how much I need to upgrade to a new HDTV. The darks in the transfer are DARK! I've never had to squint to try to see something in a movie before but the scenes underground had me going crazy trying to see whats going on.

yeah thats due to contrast ratio im sure its going to catch a lot of heat with people who have low contrast ratio tv's as it probly would look dang near black, the blacks really did look amazing(and I cant stress that enough) on our pro150fd, I've yet to watch it on any of our other tv's or my room tv, anyway I agree with what most have been saying about they need to dump the humans they just take up space in my opinion.

What's really cool is that they're supposed to be coming out with Alien 5. It's actually a prequel to the first Alien. The space jockey is carrying the alien species to his home planet to use them for biological warfare. One gets loose and attacks him, he crashes onto LV-426 and the rest is history. One other version of AVP had the predators "owning" the alien species. They'd drop them on LV-426 and hunt them for sport and rites of passage! I hope they do something like that for AVP3! I didn't care too much for the first (and I'm a diehard alien fan)! I'll be watching Requiem tonight. Hopefully better than AVP! I just have to keep telling myself that it's a whole different franchise aimed at a younger audience. Sigourney Weaver didn't want to have anything to do with any of it. She's supposed to be the narrator in Alien 5. I guess if we just take these movies at face value (fun popcorn movies), they'll all be enjoyable somewhat!
