Default Kid has scratched my Plasma Screen

Is it possible to remove scratches out of my plasma?

My 3yr old decided to draw all over it with a very sharp object.. Now I have a lot of nasty scratches all over the glass screen.

Its a panasonic plasma, and its a glass filter screen from what I can make of it..

No doubt what Panasonic would charge will be too expensive to warrant.

I was thinking about polishing it, but I know these screens have an anti-glare coating.

Anyone have any success stories to share, or am i up the creek?

UGH $1000 for a replacement...

Might as well buy a new TV. My kids cracked my Panasonic 55' screen and it was $800.00 to fix.

this is why im not having kids.....but I would look into buying a new tv if ur warranty does not cover....1,000 to replace a tv that the repair guys could screw up more when fixing it is alot of money......

The Delorean? They're pretty easily had at $15,000 or so.... hardly "Ferrari" priced...... some older Ferrari's can be had for $35K or so too.... but I digress......

My kid puked (some may say "spit-up" ) on my remote today

He's so cool, he just smiled at me, and all was forgiven

He could only be so lucky. A few years ago I had a 65" HD RCA Projection. It broke, so RCA found me up with a locar repair company. They ended up breaking it even worse so they gave me a brand new TV, still in the box, to replace it.

Because the Nanny has a 3 year old... and our son is only 7 months old, and will certainly be destructive when he's older.... the new Dedicated Theater room is getting a "Latch" type lock at that top of the door, about 6 or 7 feet up....... I can't wait for this new place.... I worry about my speakers when I leave for work..... I already lost 3 tweeters

"Kid Proofing" is a necessary expense.

Although kids are still a little ways down the road for us, this is very good info to know.
I will have to find a way to kid-proof my home theater when they are still that young. It is easier to parental lock TVs and PS3, etc for older kids (assuming you are not dumb enough to let them know the passcode, and they are not smart enough to figure it out), but the younger ones are more destructive.

I would/will have my media room locked up tight if/when I have kids. If you don't have lockable doors get those doggie gates... lol

My stepbrother's ******* kid blanked out his screen with a wiffleball bat.

The dude FLAT OUT returned it to BestBuy and was all "Man...it just stopped working I don't know what happened."

You oughtta go to work on that kid with a pair of pliers and a BLOWTORCH!!!!

This is quite close in color to what the room looked liked.

2008
It's kind of ironic, when a kid is comming, some parents go great guns making the house perfect for the newboarn while forgetting the spills and pulling apart that is sure begin after the delivery. For me, the money spent on a soon to be trashed decor would be better off in a bank earning interest for the college fund. When they learn not to rip the place apart, that would be the time to get a new TV. So keep the clunker a few more years. Scratches on the boob-tube or a peanut-butter sandwich stuffed in the VCR is no big loss.

If you are worried the kid is going to trash it, best put off buying it for a later time. Honestly, I don't have clue what the house looked like when I was two months old or two years old for that matter.

2009
The place where I live, which is shared with friends from Perú; one of them had a baby. We went great guns buying all the latest stuff and getting the baby-room picture-perfect.

2010
I was supprised that the room did not get torn apart as much as I thought, but the infant was in a crib much of time time. The parents, however, found the space much too small for the baby and have since moved out to get there own apartment, and I got the paint the room again. Now it's the dog's turn.

Look at it this way, you can use it as an excuse when arguing with your wife over why you should get a new Pioneer Kuro Elite.

A really sad predicament for you. To punish your 3 yr old for his action is also hard I mean kids are kids.So maybe a suggestion why not sew a cloth bag
and cover the plasma TV (replaced screen or new purchase).

It's a bit inconvienent but at least no frustrations and heartaches !

3 years old and they do that stuff

Definately some kind of cover on a new set would be a good idea, preferably one that takes a strong snap to remove
